Edmondson Living Center

The Edmondson Living Center (ELC) is a creative, new model for a memory care assisted living environment. ELC blends the best of memory care assisted living with the best of a dementia specific adult day program, the Alzheimer’s Activity Center (AAC).

ELC was built specifically for housing those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. ELC has a warm home feeling with home cooked meals. We have two common areas designed for interaction or relaxing. One with a large skylight allows for three small sitting areas which the other has four separate seating areas for small group activities. Our enclosed back yard has space for a small garden as well as three areas for small groups. All our bedrooms are semi-private, with sufficient space to handle both individuals’ personal furnishings.

The ELC activity program includes three days at the AAC. AAC and its specially trained caring staff can accommodate up to 90 clients per day. A full myriad of socialization and activities goes on daily. You never know what we may be doing. We have the expected activities such as bingo, shuffleboard and poker to the not so expected such as creative writing, daily intergenerational activities, with the preschoolers from the adjacent Rosa Elena Childcare Center, and cooking.

In addition to mandated trainings, our caregivers have also been trained in our philosophy of care which has proven so successful. Our philosophy of care respects the individual for who they are and is best described as:
