The first compliment I ever heard someone say about this facility when I first began visiting, was about how great their phone etiquette is. A family member of a resident told me that when he was searching for an assisted living facility for his great-aunt that he would make calls to different facilities to gather some basic information about them over the phone to determine if it was a facility he would like to visit. He said he had a quick list of services that he required in a facility, so he would run down the list with whoever answered the phone at each facility and if they offered all of the services he would schedule a tour, if they did not then he would decline a tour. He said setting up tours this way made finding the perfect facility a much easier process. He said that a friend had mentioned Bridgewood Rivers so he decided to call, he said it was very early one Saturday morning when he made the call so he was not sure if there would be anyone available to answer his questions, but he decided to give it a shot. He said that as soon as the staff member at Bridgewood Rivers answered the phone that she had this very cheerful personality that immediately put him at ease, he asked me if I had ever been in a situation where I have found myself spilling my guts to a perfect stranger just because they had that certain type of personality that made them seem like I had known them for years? He said that is the type of vibe he got speaking with this staff member over the phone, he said she was so personable and had that very approachable type of personality. He said that he explained to the staff member why he was calling and the staff member told him that she was a med tech, but would answer his questions to the best of her ability since any of the administrative staff had not yet arrived. He said that she knew the answer to every question and everything about the community sounded like a perfect fit. He said he got to the list of amenities and services he required for his aunt, but that's when the perfect fit became a little less perfect. After going over the list he discovered that Bridgewood Rivers did not offer 4 of the amenities/services he required. He had made a promise to himself to not tour a community unless they offered all of the amenities/services. So he thanked the staff member very much for her time and ended the phone call. He said that he continued calling different communities for 2 days after that phone call and that he could not forget about how helpful that staff member at Bridgewood Rivers was and how perfect everything else seemed about the facility, so he decided to break his rule and he called and scheduled a tour for him and his aunt. He said that most of his decision to continue on with the tour was because of that staff member he spoke with on the phone. He said that he and his aunt toured the facility and that his aunt seemed to just fit right in, she ended up having tea with a few of the current residents while he and one of the admin staff members spoke about the community. He said as soon as he expressed his concern for the lack of amenities and services he wanted his aunt to have available to her, he said the staff member asked what they were - she promised to do everything in her power to make those services become available. He said that was that, he moved his aunt into Bridgewood Rivers 2 weeks later and she has been so happy ever since. He also said that those services he wanted became available to his aunt and all of the other residents 3 weeks after his aunt moved in, he said that that staff member stayed true to her word and that at that moment his trust in the staff and facility began to strengthen and has not waivered ever since.

He said that the staff at Bridgewood Rivers have all turned out to be exceptional, he said that when he finally met face-to-face with the staff member he had first spoken on the phone with that early Saturday morning, that he thanked her. He said that if it wasn't for her personality and how helpful and friendly she was that he would have never chose to tour Bridgewood Rivers and than his aunt would have never found the perfect community to call her home. He said even now, anytime he calls, the customer service over the phone is outstanding, he said that they never let the phone ring more than 4 times, that whoever answers is always so friendly and willing to assist in any way possible, that they are always informed and can tell him exactly how his aunt is doing or what she is doing with out them having to put him on hold for a long time so they can go check. He says that phone etiquette is so important, especially when family members are calling to check on their loved ones and that the staff at Bridgewood Rivers is as wonderful and helpful over the phone as they are in person.

It has been a long time since my first visit to this facility when I was told this story by this man and I have made many, many visits since. The one thing that always remains the same is how skilled, friendly, and helpful the staff members are to the residents, family members, and any other visitors to the facility. Now, not all the staff members still remain employed here, a lot of them are still here, but some have moved on in their careers and I have to say that every new employee that walks through those doors all end up being wonderful addition to the care team, I think mainly because they have the right type of personalities and because they are trained by really fantastic people. Either Bridgewood Rivers has AMAZING luck with choosing employees or they are just that great at picking the right people for the job, either way, whatever they are doing is working. Most senior living facilities have very high turnover rates as it is hard to find quality people at times who are passionate about this line of work, so I think that it is so wonderful that the staff at Bridgewood Rivers stick around, the morale seems very high and the staff members all appear very satisfied with their jobs. Having a facility where the staff members are not constantly changing because of hiring, firing, quitting, etc. benefits the residents in SO many ways - for one, they have the chance to really bond with the staff members and will begin to trust them, they are not constantly having to remember new names or getting confused by all the new faces, they feel more secure and comfortable in their home as a stable and familiar staff makes for a less chaotic and smoothly ran facility, and last but not least, the residents needs are met thoroughly everyday and there are less mistakes or errors because staff members who truly know the residents also know the resident care plans so they know how to care for each resident properly. There are more resident care mix-ups made in facilities where the staff is always changing as the staff members do not work as a team, keep each other updated on any resident care changes, and the main reason is because they don't know the residents their individual care needs and since they probably wont work there for that long they don't take the time to know the residents and their care plans. The residents at Bridgewood Rivers have all of their care needs met thoroughly and perfectly on a daily basis by staff members who truly know and care about them.

This is getting long, so I am going to wrap things up. I did not even get in to all of the amazing options they have or talk about all of the fantastic opportunities made available to the residents on a daily basis. I didn't get a chance to mention anything about the way the community looks or the food or the activities or everything else, so just know that there are so many exceptional aspects about this facility and that I am confident that you and your loved ones will may also find that Bridgewood Rivers is the perfect fit for you and yours.
