Honestly, it seemed like a very nice and pleasant place with activities, but you also know coming in that it is for those who are in not such a great place so it is hard to find it overly cheery. The colors are great and the staff were always pleasant. I did not find it a very diverse group of individuals, which I suppose is also ideal for the people living there. The older generations are not as comfortable with the ideals of tolerance yet, and while this is not something commonly said, it is very apparent in nursing homes and the like when people will choose them by racial lines and comfort zones. Since it is a final place of stay, it should be one where you feel comfortable and can easily find and make friends with those like you. I liked the many planned activities, although I am not sure of their successes in that department. While I know assisted living is never the first choice, sometimes it is what is needed and thus... we all make hard choices. At least it isn't hospice.
