The community of Juniper Village at South Hills is nice. It's very clean and the people are friendly. They all seem to be good. Originally, my mother was in a single room, and when I moved her upstairs to memory care, she now shared a room with another lady. She has a twin bed, a dresser, and a closet. So as the other lady. It's very clean. They do a good job. They come in every day and they clean. They have a dining area in their memory area and if they need help as far as cutting their food or even feeding themselves, there's an attendant on hand to help deal with that. I was there yesterday, and they had a drummer come in and do drumming and singing. A friend of mine was there every other day and she said that my mother went to some activity that they had, but she just stayed in a room until my mother came back. I also know they have various activities, and they have a movie night for them at the place. They're very patient with the people. For the various holidays, they decorate the facility and they have activities that are related to some of the holidays. I know they had just had an activity for Mardi Gras. Easter is coming up so they have some decorations up for Saint Patrick's Day. The food looks good. My mother said it doesn't have enough salt on it, but it looks good.

This is the second facility my mother has been in and we really expected more when we moved her but I think they tell you what you want to hear just to get you into the place. The cost was over $2,000 higher and we had the same issues. Slow or no response to pendant, not taking to the bathroom regularly, skipping showers on a regular basis (10 days with no shower). The worst part was leaving her sitting around in a soaked Depends to the point where her clothes and chair also got wet. When you're paying over $7,000 per month you expect to get decent basic care as far as toileting and showers but you don't even get that.

My tour of Juniper Village at South Hills was nice. The staff was friendly, and they were adequately staffed. They had a nice dining room. We saw the dining room, while dinner was being served. They give you plenty of options. The facility was clean. It looked like a big mansion with a homey feeling. They have activities, movie nights, and festive parties around the holidays. It was a nice place.

My father-in-law has moved into Juniper Village at South Hills. The staff is what made us want to go with them. So far, I've been very happy. We haven't had any issues. The staff is very helpful. My father-in-law seems to like the food and it's a good variety. The facility wasn't overly over-the-top, which was good. It's a nice facility. I don't know a whole lot of the activities, but I know he's been to a few of them. $6170 per month is not a good value for anything, but it is what it is.

I went to Juniper Village at South Hills. I would give that one a poor rating. It's dirty. It's completely outdated. It looks grand from the outside, but the inside is not kept. The rooms weren't that great either; they were small. It looked very nice from the outside, but not very good on the inside. They have like a one-tier salon, too.

My mom has been living in Juniper Village at South Hills for a year now. They changed management, and the prices went up. After I talked to the manager, the price was lowered. They're very caring. She gets excellent care. The place is very clean and she's always very clean. The meals are good. So my mom's room is very nice. She has a bathroom, a sink set up, a shower. I have hospice coming in. They got her a hospital bed. Her room is always clean. Well-kept. The staff is very caring, they're a nice group of people. I have no complaints about staff. In the dementia unit, they have noodle exercises. There are pool noodles, coloring, and they have crafts.
