Women of Hope

I visited this facility

Women of Hope is an assisted living facility in the heart of Philadelphia city. I visited the facility as a volunteer for my medical school. We were given a tour of the facility and then set up an office to treat any minor illnesses or follow up on any residents' concerns.The facility itself is quite a beautiful space within the city. It takes care of the mentally ill who have been homeless. It gives them the opportunity to be as independent as possible along with any medical care they need. The facilities are appropriate - dressing, bathing, laundry, meals, transportation. The staff was kind and friendly and willing to help. My only issue was that I could not figure out how the payment system worked for most of these women - who was paying, if any of them had insurance and what insurances were accepted at the facility.However, all in all a great experience and the resident were happy and healthy.
