Colonial Oaks at Pearland

I visited this facility

Since we would be in the general vicinity checking out another assisted facility, we made it a point to visit Colonial Oaks of Pearland. My brother's friend has a lot of friends and family near the area - so it is a favorite.

The grounds were well tended and we could see that there is plenty of room for residents to spread out and enjoy activities with friends and family, such as picnics, or enjoy the many seating areas however they wish.

We liked that they prepare care plans around what each person needs - and that they are flexible enough to change the level of care as becomes necessary.

The common areas were nicely decorated and home-like. There were many places for residents to enjoy a variety of activities, from games to reading and seeing films in the onsite theater. Some of the residents participate in the educational programs.

The private rooms featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture.

The dining areas were warm and friendly. The snacks were all delicious. The staff takes the time to offer foods that look appetizing.

The many recreational activities include trips to visit the local and surrounding entertainment hubs such as art galleries and museums, eateries and other cultural events, like regional fairs and festivals.

It is important to the family that my brother's friend really enjoy his later years. The staff was very friendly and we could see that the residents are all happy there.

We enjoyed our visit at this facility and would recommend that people in the area who are looking for a good home for an elderly person check it out.

As a professional in the area, I have referred clients to Colonial Oaks, which is an assisted living & memory care community, providing support services to persons having difficulty managing on their own.

All clients had positive comments about this community, but one was especially touching, from a son, who was emotional, said: "I told Mom I would never put her away & when we brought her here, I thought I did, but I was totally wrong. Everyone (staff) here cares & Mom gets the best. This is what she needed, people around to help her & having fun all day."
