Dorian Place is a nice community, the residents all seem happy and semi-comfortable. I say semi-comfortable because quite a few of them have told me that they are "semi-comfortable". They say that while the staff members are all friendly and helpful and while the facility itself looks like it would be a very comfortable place to live, that they have a hard time truly being themselves and feeling 100% at home. Now, this is a common feeling and occurrence in senior living but it is typically among the newer residents and usually short-lived until the residents become more familiar with their surroundings, however, a couple of the residents who have told me this have lived in the community for a long time now. You would think that after living in the facility for so long they would have become comfortable by now. So is it the residents or the facility? If it were one resident having this problem I would probably lean toward it being the resident, but there are multiple residents involved so I'm not sure.

The staff members are friendly, they are quick to greet you when you walk through the doors which is always nice. They are always willing to help in any they can. The way they treat and care for each resident is also refreshing to see in a community, they are very sweet and delicate with the residents. They are very supportive and protective of the residents . They are in every way the type of care team I would want caring for my loved ones.

There are many activities and opportunities and options available for the residents, there many things to do and to be a part of. The community seems as if it would provide a fulfilling and satisfying life, however, I cannot get past the thought of residents not feeling comfortable or feeling like they can't be themselves. I hope that the staff will work with these residents in coming up with ways to help them feel more happy and content within the community. I will do everything that I can to help these residents but the staff really need to get involved as well as they are there everyday and I only am there once every 3 to 4 months. I do want so badly for all of the residents to feel comfortable and at home within Dorian Place.
