I am a friend or relative of a resident

Parsons house is a fairly new facility, everything inside is modern looking the furnishings uplifting. They are comfortable they encourage family gatherings in quiet corners; the dining area was situated as a kitchen in an home. The staff was very professional, they took very good care of my relative, her care was exhibited by the staff by always making sure that she had socialization rather than staying in her room alone. The staff at the facility took pride in their appearance and they always seemed to have enough staff so it never gave the impression that the stress of the job was more taxing than they could handle. If I had one complaint the administration was privately owned and the partners more times than not felt that they needed to intervene into situation that they were not needed or wanted. Overall Parsons house was a positive experience and a very caring place for my relative to stay.

I visited this facility

Parson's House is an assisted living/nursing home facility. I had family members in both parts of this facility. The assisted living part of the facility was very nice for residents. The rooms were fairly large and seemed to be kept very clean. They offered daily activities for the residents which kept them entertained. They also had a game room that was very family oriented and was convenient when a resident had visitors. They also had a very large activity room for family to come meet with the residents and for other activities. The nursing home part of the facility however I was not as impressed with. There always seemed to be a foul odor in the air that made the time there not as enjoyable. It also seemed to be not as clean as the other part of the facility. The whole staff of Parson's House were always pleasant to work with and talk to.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandpa suffered from severe Alzheimer's and was not treated the way he should have been while at the Parson's house. he was often left unattended to. We would visit him and we could tell he hadn't bathed in days. The staff was more than helpful when we were there, but when we were not there they seemed to not care what so ever. I was very disappointed in the way he was treated towards the end of his life.

The care provided is okay. I feel they should have more activities and better food. The food is awful! The clients just sit around without much to do to stimulate their minds or create a warm atmosphere.

The facility itself is very attractive. Unfortunately, you don't know what that facility is like until AFTER your loved one is admitted. My experience beginning with the administrator and nurse down to most of the staff was not good! I was SO happy to get my spouse OUT of there and into a good, caring facility. When checking out a home, look past the exterior and investigate the people you'll be deaing with daily!
