I visited this facility

I went to visit Vitality Living Village. It went well. It was great. I didn't know where to start and the staff who gave us the tour was very informative and very helpful. We went to see both rooms. One that was for like a memory center and one that was not a memory center. The memory center rooms were not as furnished as much so that there wasn't a lot to confuse them and I liked that. I like that all the doors were locked so they wouldn't just be able to get out. We got to see people during an activity game that they were out and it was so nice. The rooms were nice. It was on one floor and it was pleasant. We spent most of the time in assisted living.

Provider Response

Hi Linda, it makes us so happy to hear this! We greatly appreciate the five-star review.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife moved to Vitality Living Village. Their staff are pretty good. The appetizers and the desserts are good. The meals suck. They are bland. The pizza comes with basic bread with tomato paste on it. That's not a pizza, but that's what they're feeding them. They have laundry and my wife's clothes are being worn by everybody else. They distribute it everywhere, but she's small and not everybody there is small. The facility itself is good. It smells clean and well-maintained. The staff in memory care are good people. My wife's got a private bath, a small walk-in closet, and provisions for a kitchen if you want one. Of course, her memory is gone, so there's no cooking and we're not using the entire space because she can't watch TV anyway. They work with the residents at least 2 to 3 hours a day. They have activities. They have people try to help them like painting, coloring, and exercise classes. They have an exercise yard outside, but it's over 100 degrees, so they can't use that yet. They do that inside while they can.

Vitality Living Village was well designed. There were no smells to it and it was clean. They had a lot of staff. It was just a nice and fairly new facility. I really liked the person who assisted me with the tour. She was really thorough and she was quick to tell me how many RNs were there five days a week on eight-hour shifts. I liked their staffing ratio. It seemed like everything was organized well. They would take their residents on field trips and little shopping sprees.

Hi Dena, we appreciate your feedback and the review. Thank you!

I had a nice tour of Vitality Living Village. I went in and spoke with a lady, and she was very friendly. She provided me with some information in a folder as well as some other information. We took a tour, and she introduced me to 2 or 3 other people. The place seemed nice, clean, and cheerful. The rooms looked fine.

My parents will be moving into Vitality Living Village. They were friendly and welcoming on the tour. The staff were great. They were just better. It's a newer facility, and it's only one level, so they don't have to worry about elevators and multiple floors. For us, it's just a better arrangement. The director has gone out of her way to help us, and to help the transition take place. The facility is adequate. There's no gym there, but there is a salon, so that's nice. They have plenty of areas for my parents to move around in the facilities and activities. It's near a lot of various things, it's very well located.

Vitality Living Village was a little older as far as the building was concerned, but the staff and activities were fabulous. They were very tuned in to making it a home for the residents. The place was clean, but there was a faint odor of urine when we first walked into memory care. The dining area was nice, but the bedrooms were small.

Provider Response

Hi, Anne - we greatly value your feedback, and we appreciate you sharing your experience with us!

My dad moved into Vitality Living Village, and it was great. They have been very accommodating. There were a couple of hiccups when we moved him in because it was a holiday weekend, but they have endeavored to make everything right. They were very responsive to anything we asked. My dad's room is very clean. It had been repainted when we got there. It has a beautiful view of a pond, which my dad is really enjoying. The maintenance person is fabulous. We left TV mounts and some picture frames. The next day when we got there, everything was up and mounted. He's been great at responding to anything that we need fixed. The dining area has a great view of the pond as well. My dad really likes the food. They have bingo and an exercise group that my dad goes down to every morning. They have some general activities, like a big luau party. They seemed to be conscious of having some things for my dad to do, getting him out of the room, and participating.

We looked at Vitality Living Village. It was a nice facility. The staff was very nice to us. I liked the layout of the place. It was a little more expensive though. The one that we've worked with was very helpful. It was very nice and clean and seemed to be fairly new. They offered a salon and a courtyard. The room could have been a little bigger.

Provider Response

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We greatly appreciate you taking time to leave us a 5-star review.

We liked it, although the apartments were not laid out as well as others. The biggest objection my wife had was that the bathroom is right inside the front door, and she didn't like that floor plan layout. Otherwise, they looked pretty nice. They were available in different configurations. We had one meal there, and it was good. They only had one room available at the time and it was not the kind of floor plan that we would probably require. My wife liked it, but she said we couldn't live in a one-bedroom that small. They didn't have anything available that we could move into. The kitchenette was too small for a couple. It might be fine for one person. They had an exercise room, but they need a treadmill; otherwise, it was nicely laid out and convenient.

I toured, the assisted living side was very nice, but the Alzheimer's side was kind of sad. It was not that the people weren’t doing their jobs. It was just sad seeing the residents there. The staff on the assisted living side seemed OK. On the Alzheimer's side, it seemed different. I asked one of the workers there for some information, and she said she just started there and didn’t know anything. The rooms were very nice. I didn’t try the food, but the dining room looked good. I liked it because it was small enough to be personal and not too large.

I visited and it was very nice. At that time, they were having a residents' forum to talk about the menus. The dining area and rooms seemed very nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. They have a nice outdoor patio area, common rooms, and a library.

It is really nice, and the scenery is really good. I only saw the studio room, and it was clean, nice, and bright. The staff was very nice and sweet. They have a chef, and the food is excellent. They have activities like going on a Walmart trip which my mom likes, and they watch ball games or movies and have popcorn.

What I didn't like was that their independent living, assisted living, and nursing home were all in the same building and they all eat at the same time. And, that's the only thing I didn't like about it. The food was wonderful. Everybody was wonderful.

My wife and I toured this facility and were very impressed with the set up and the Memory Care Unit wasn't too large and they plan activities for the residents to try to help stimulate them and to encourage them. It is a clean facility and the staff is very nice. The Community Director, The Nurse and Memory Care Activity Director met with my mother-in-law before we toured the place. We were impressed with how they interacted with her and how at ease she felt with them.
