Ashwood Assisted Living is one of the most comfortable and attractive facilities I have seen. The halls are very wide and fully carpeted. The building is fully carpeted, painted, papered and trimmed to be a pleasant place. It integrates a number of garden areas with plantings, walks and benches into the property. The rooms and baths are spacious and modern. Many such facilities are old and run down or are expensive. Ashwood is neither. The staff is friendly, professional and well trained in geriatric related issues. There are daily supervised activities and a number of clubs and associations for residents to belong to depending on their tastes. For example there are clubs for bingo and other popular games and pastimes. There also is a resident run association that collects and provides resident feedback to the management at regular meetings. Staff is always available to assist the residents at club gatherings and many social activities are supervised by the Activities Director. In some ways Ashwood seems more like a modest resort than a place providing care for seniors unable to live entirely alone.Ash wood should definitely be on your short list for assisted living care in North Texas. The location is easy to find, being very near the interstate between commercial and residential areas well patrolled and traffic controlled.
