I visited this facility

We visited the Angels of Mercy assisted living facility while in the Minneapolis area looking for a place for our aunt to live. Our aunt has many friends and family in the area so would like to stay in the same region to more easily stay in touch with everyone she cares about. We immediately noticed how well the grounds were tended. Our aunt enjoys being outdoors, so it was nice to see the ample seating areas among the trees, shrubbery and flowers.

The staff welcomed us into a lovely foyer waiting area where we were given a refreshing beverage. This area reminded me of a mansion home setting, with floral arrangements and large windows. There is plenty of light in the communal and housing areas, which our aunt would really like. She enjoys reading by her window and using natural light as much as possible.

The kitchen was very clean and we could see that the menu choices were plentiful, serving any dietary concern or desire. We tried some snacks which were nutritious and delicious. The dining area was lovely and very homey, with tables of 4 as well as a larger center table that residents could choose to sit at. They also had a smaller dining area where residents may host visits with their friends and family.

The outings they described all sounded like things our aunt would love to do, from cultural to shopping. They also have connections to local senior community centers and city events. The residents are all encouraged to get plenty of fresh air and exercise – each person’s day plan tailored to their specific needs. We really liked the Angels of Mercy facility and could see that all of the residents were well taken care of and content.
