I visited this facility
We visited Winchester Gardens once. It was an old building in a residential neighborhood. The person who showed us around was very considerate and discussed everything about the building, rooms and residents. The rooms were designed decently and spacious. The facility had an art room, game rooms, garden and indoor swimming pool. Musicians and speakers came to have presentations to the residents. A bus also took them shopping and other places they wanted to visit. I would recommend this place to other seniors.

AWOL admin during hurricane. Pitch black hallways No generator no heat no hot water. Fire department had to keep personell on site because of dangerous conditions Held residents in news blackout Refused help from community Run away as fast as you can. They spend all the money on landscaping and none on basic

I am very pleased with Winchester Gardens. My mother is 87 years old and had a major stroke in October 2011. She spent several weeks total in the hospital, an acute rehabilitation facility and a non acute facility. In January 2012, she was discharged from the non acute facility. She was a resident at Winchester Gardens independent living community for over seven years, but would not be able to return to her apartment as she is in a wheelchair and has no use of her left arm. Since she had always been very happy there, it was natural for her to go to their assisted living facility. The staff is extremely professional, caring and attentive. They make a point of knowing the residents personally and extensively. Winchester Gardens is a beautiful facility, both the buildings and the grounds. The food is very good. As I said, we could not imagine there being a better place for my mother, given her condition. It is as if she is living in an upscale hotel, with all her needs attended to by staff that treat her like family. She has numerous activities to choose from every week. She continues to receive physical and occupational therapy and raves about the therapists who work with her. She has continued to progress mentally and physically. The staff clearly works as a team, is always quick to address any concerns and have made certain to keep my mother, my sisters and myself fully informed regarding everyn aspect of her care.
