Vitality Living Pleasant Hills was older and not as clean as others we've seen. My father-in-law did not like it. It was a very spread-out campus. There was a lot of walking to get to your room and the dining room. The bathroom was terrible. You cannot walk into the shower. You have to step over the side of a small tub, and that is certainly not what we were looking for. That broke the deal. The staff was very nice. However, they didn't have as many amenities. They get to go on some outings and some trips, but there are not as many activities and not as many real opportunities. They can improve on the accommodations, and there was a cockroach in the kitchen, too. The kitchen was a kitchen where they took the stove out and just put shelves in. I'm not interested in having all that excess room. It was very closed in, and the bathroom was not for an 80-year-old man.

We did a tour of Vitality Living Pleasant Hills for my mom. Everybody was friendly, and they had a lot of activities planned. I like that the meals they offer, it's two meals a day, but they let you pick whether you want breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner. So, I like the option of my mom being able to select which meal she gets each day. Then they have cottage options available. They had a salon, chapel, and a library. You could get a lot of walking if she's down on the ends of the hallways or something. It'd be a long trek back to the elevator, which would be a concern. She's mobility challenged with a walker and a cane. Our walking was on pavement, just driveways and stuff. So, I don't remember if they had a lot of outdoor, patio-type green areas. They had some rooms that had walk-out balconies, but I don't think all rooms have that. The rest of the staff are all very friendly. The facilities are a little dated, and when we were there, the library was all taken apart because the residents were deciding to reorganize it. It was just all over the place when we were there. The outside, it was a lot of hill path for my mom to have to walk on to get from one place to another. So, it was just a little complicated to get to the elevators, and her not being tired from the walking, that was our thing with the facility.

I have mixed reviews of this facility I’m having billing issues being excessively overcharged by thousands. I think they will work it out, but it is disturbing. We are also being charged for a level of care that he’s not receiving. He is supposed to have level two care with people coming in and helping him transfer. That being said he doesn’t ask for help and he is actually not needing it but they are still charging for it to the tune of $350 a month. He does receive help maybe once a week to take a shower. Laundry is a mess and they don’t use very good soap if you have urine issues your clothes still smell. The food is not very good but the employees are friendly.

Vitality Living Pleasant Hills seemed very nice. The dining areas were nice as well as the rooms. They were laid out well. The person that gave me a tour was very informative, answered all the questions and provided me with lots of information on everything. So, I was pleased with the tour. They had an activity room, a beauty shop, and a physical therapy room. Everything looked very nice and very well maintained. It was very homey and it didn't have a real institutional look to it.

The rooms at Vitality Living Pleasant Hills were excellent. They're an excellent size, with good closet space, they also had a little porch. Instead of an apartment inside the main building, they offered cottages and a 1-bedroom, they're very nice. But I think I need to be where there are people, that I can have some sort of social life. The biggest drawback about that place is that it was on the side of a mountain. There was a lot of walking and climbing, so I don't know if that would be suitable for me. The cost was very good, although there were some things they didn't provide, like cable and phone. They seem to have fewer activities than the other place I saw, but they have a beautiful fireplace in the common area. The staff was excellent, they were good, and they only provide two meals a day. The apartment was large, they had shower baths, a bathtub, and a shower.

I chose Vitality Living Pleasant Hills. The staff was friendly and efficient, and they took care of everything for us. It's just a nice place for senior living. We're moving in two weeks. It comes with two meals a day. The food is good. The apartment has a refrigerator, a built-in stove, a dishwasher, and a microwave. It's got a porch off in the apartment, and they've got all kinds of pool tables, and a library, all kinds of stuff in there.

I found Vitality Living Pleasant Hills for my dad. He moved in last week. They have pendants for the residents to wear, if they need assistance, then they're very quick to answer if the resident pushes the button. They're very quick to respond. The staff is very friendly. It is overall a very good experience. I have not eaten there, but the food smells great, and the residents there seemed to be enjoying the food. I saw the menu they were giving. A couple of choices I could choose from, and then if I didn't want those choices, there were multiple, alternate choices, so I have options. My dad has a studio apartment and it was the largest of all the facilities that I toured. It was the largest studio apartment that I saw. It was probably one of the older facilities, it was very well maintained and I thought it was updated pretty well. So far, I haven't had any complaints yet. I have seen the activity that they do, and I think he will be participating in some of those activities that he will enjoy. They have bingo, board games, going to the store, and outings.

When we did a tour of Vitality Living Pleasant Hills, we had a gentleman who walked us around the facilities and did a real good job of showing us everything. He showed us the inside of one of the cottages. Their 1-bedroom is about 600 square feet, and 2-bedroom is a little bit larger, maybe 700 or 800 square feet. It's plenty for him. They look nice and well-kept. It didn't have any furniture. My brother would be selling the house and moving a lot of the furniture into the unfurnished cottages. Whenever the cottages or facilities are vacated, they do a complete upgrade of the facility. So, the one we went into was nice. When we checked in with the main desk, we signed into the counter, and we wore our masks. She took our temperatures. I could tell the maintenance staff was wearing masks, and they were doing the cleaning. They keep the place in really good shape, so impressed with that. The staff was very informative, very friendly, and answered our questions. They were serving catfish. I think we got there on a Friday, so they were serving that. That sounded good, but we didn't want to take it. They had a weekly menu. It looked pretty good; well-diversified, and the meals have looked good. Where we checked in the restaurant, the dining facility was on the side. It wasn't being occupied by lunchtime. Everything was clean in there. They had a few elderly people there on the tables playing board games or something like that and seemed to be enjoying themselves

Vitality Living Pleasant Hills was very neat, very clean, and the rooms were a nice size. The staff seemed very pleasant, open and showed me some of the stuff that they do. They had the dining room spaced out very nicely, but nobody was there when we saw it. They have an art class, a book club, and an exercise room, but because of COVID, they're just really getting back into doing some of their activities. The place was a little bit older, so it could use some remodeling and some updates.

My father moved in. The staff is very friendly, engaging, they focus on the residents, and they give them time and attention. They're careful to patiently listen and care for them, and if there's a need, they're quick to assist them with it. The place is clean, they have a variety of activities, and they have quality furniture there. His room is very well cared for, it has wood flooring, it's got a good structure, it's clean, smells good, and of course they have a maid that comes every week. He has never complained about the food. On Tuesdays they take routinely take them to Walmart, Kroeger, or both. I know the residents have the option to eat at certain places around town. Once a month they invite the families to come for a special activity. For example, last Christmas they had cookies, cocoa, and Christmas carolling. They go on random outings a couple of times a month, they have a men's domino group, a group plays bridge, and one of the residents actually leads exercises (I think a 90-year old man leads exercises there). Another lady resident paints, she taught art history I think, so she has a painting class where the residents paint birds. They display them in the library and they're quite good. So I like how they allow their residents to take ownership of some of the activities that they want to do. I have no complaints. The staff members, even Gary who's there from 4:00 onwards at the front desk, if one of the residents pushes their button, he's the one that calls to go get them, and when I come in with things, he's super helpful to me. He's a strong Christian man, he prays for the residents, he's just super cheerful, and he really cares about them. I think they're authentic, warm, and generous people.

There were lots of steps here. It was also on the side of a hill. The rooms were clean and newly remodeled. The person who assisted me was good and helpful. However, the dining area was very large. It was a little challenging to get to. You have to have really good mobility there. It was very confusing and it was not well laid-out.

My mother-in-law has been living here for approximately two months in their assisted living. She has her own apartment but someone comes to help her with all her daily tasks like getting dressed and bathing. She carries a call button so anytime she needs anything she can call. She's not ambulatory so she needs a lot of help and assistance. They cook all of her meals which are very good, and we can go and eat with her any time for a very small fee. All the staff is just very loving and caring. She's actually becoming healthier since she's been there since she can get physical therapy every day because they have on-site. Even when it's not paid for, she can go down to the physical therapy room and work out on her own which she's doing. We've just been really happy with the place. My mother-in-law chose a studio but they also have independent living cottages, like their 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Even though she's in the assisted living wing, they can all do of their activities and eat together. She's in an environment where she can thrive, get all the physical help she needs, but then she can make lots of friends and join activities. I love everything about the facility, but the only downside is it's a little bit older so the décor is not as updated and modern.

I liked the staff. Some of the cottages were down lower, and the ground was hilly. If you were staying in the main building, it would be wonderful, but not in the other buildings. I was impressed with the staff.

It is a very large facility and I like it. All the independent living cottages were all around the perimeter, and the main office and the high rise for assisted is in the center. Out of all the cottages I looked at, I liked their layout and size the best. The person who showed me around was knowledgeable. The monthly menu looked pretty good and they serve two meals a day. They have a community room with playing cards, a pool table, a library, and a TV room.

My mother-in-law is in a two-bedroom. They talk to her instead of talking over her, which is great. The meals are fine. They check on her if she doesn’t come down to eat. They have bingo, board games, puzzles, go on weekly trips, movie nights, and visiting singers. I just can’t say enough of how good they are.

Everybody seemed to be very happy; both the staff and the patrons. We had a very nice lunch, and the food was very good. I took my daughter, my grandchildren, and a lot of the people who were there were coming over to see the babies. They all were saying how happy they were there, and how much they enjoyed it there. It was not the best area, but once you get into the community it was like going into a different world. In the apartment area it was like you were in the middle of the mountain, and all you could see was nice scenery. It’s very serene. It was all accessible from inside so that people didn’t have to actually go outside the unit in case of bad weather or rain. What I didn’t care for was the size of the unit. My parents wouldn’t have cared for that particular one because it was only 400sq. ft. I did feel that it was very confined for them. For someone who is more immobilized that would have been fine, but for my parents they would not have enjoyed the size of the room. They gave me a copy of the menu, and I forwarded it on to my parents. They have different activities; movie nights, they go on little short trips, and to different shows. There was a lot to offer if you have great mind-set. Many of the residents have been there for many years. There didn’t seem to be a huge turnover. The staff was very helpful.

My mother was in here. They had her over in the independent side and she was supposed to get extra help, but the extra help didn't come through. They reevaluated her and put her over on the assisted living side and that was a lot better. She did get a lot of help there. She stayed clean and they brought her dinner, got her up out of bed and help her get in her clothes and wash. The assisted living side was great. There were activities there to do, but she didn't go. The staff was very friendly. Her room was nice sized, which was a one-bedroom, very nice, and had a balcony, big closet and pantry. The dining area was very nice downstairs, big, and they had a fireplace running all the time.

My mom spent a month here. It was a nice place. The staff was nice and helpful. The apartment that she moved into was really clean. I ate there, and the food was fine. The dining room was fine too. I don't have any elaborate words for it, but everything was fine, and I don't have any complaints. My mom stayed pretty isolated, and she didn't participate in anything there. My mother-in-law chose it because it was in her price range, she liked it, and it was close to the hospital and doctors she goes to. She liked what they told her about the place and the rooms. I know they have an exercise class, Bible studies, and they take them to places. The downside is they have no visitor parking. There are nice people there, and they are very attentive when my mother-in-law has questions, and when she had concerns like helping her to get all the paperwork done to move in. We can come and visit anytime we want.

It was great, but the level of care that they were able to offer was not as high as what my mother needs. They were very nice. They were really good. The rooms were actually bigger than where's my mom's at. They were designed probably more for independent living than for assisted living. That was nice but there was a lot of distance between the rooms and where the activities were held and for assisted living, that wasn't ideal. However, the apartments were very nice, even the studio apartments were good. We ate there. The dining area was very nice. The only person we interacted with was the person in charge of sales, she was wonderful. She was really, really nice. We like her a lot.

My visit to Emeritus at Pleasant Hill was very nice. The young woman that I talked with was very informative and empathetic. I was the only person she had to deal with all day long. She didn't hurry me up or make me feel that she had to talk to anybody else. I felt like I could stay all day long and that would have been fine with her as she would have kept talking to me. I also met Heather from the memory center. She was very personable, empathetic and tells me what they'll do if my mom went there. The rooms looked like studio apartments and were nice. They were well kept and well maintained. They had a bus that took the residents to grocery stores once a week. I saw several women playing bridge. Every woman that I saw were well cared for. Their hair were done and they were dressed nicely. It was really obvious that the people who worked there gave importance to them. I would recommend them to others. My only concern was that when my mom took her car, she would have to walk a distance to go to the door.
