The Laurels at Kingston

Great aunt treated bad

My Great Aunt was placed in this facility by the POA. She fell and broke her hip and had a complete hip replacement. Two days after the replacement she was sent to the Laurels AND promptly declared incapable and now her POA gets to take charge. She may be incapable of walking but that is it. Once allowed back on her regular medication she is completly in control of her faculties. The week shift nurses misplace her dentures, let them dry out with the old liner in them, balled up her night gowns an threw them into a drawer and then have kept her in the wheel chair all night (in the hallwall).She asked to put in bed. Then the next day aunt is so tired and annoyed, she is miserable. The POA wrote that were no living relatives on the paperwork. Did the Social services worker at the Laurels not ask my aunt questions about her family? Who declares someone incapable two days after a major surgery and still induced by heavy pain medication? Something at this place is not right. Are they treating her like crap because the POA said to do so? There have been no problems with the weekend shift,they have been very compationate, thank you.
