Culpepper Place is a relatively new assisted living facility in Jonesboro, AR that offers comfortable assisted living in a relatively small setting. I have a family member who has lived there for over a year now in a one-bedroom apartment. For what seems like a fairly reasonable price, she gets her apartment with all utilities paid, including cable TV and Internet if she wanted it, her meals, the apartment cleaned regularly--and cleaned WELL--her laundry done, and assistance with daily living activities, transportation to stores and doctor's visits, not to mention the socialization.
The director and staff are very caring and do a really good job. I do think that the meals are a bit dull and could be better--I have some experience with other assisted living facilities that did a nicer job with meals. I also think that the social activities could be handled much better and wish that there was a regular exercise program (there is something that is resident led, but it does not use a real exercise curriculum like Sit and Be Fit.
In spite of that, my relative is very happy there and they do a good job with mild to moderate cognitive impairments. There is a wander guard for those that need it which prevents residents from leaving the facilities unattended (only if this is needed--few wear the wander guard device). Medication assistance and bathing is offered. There is a hair salon on premise (this is an extra charge). Almost all of the apartments have an outdoor space in the form of a patio and some open onto enclosed, protected interior courtyards, perfect for someone with Alzheimer's. At meal times, someone comes and gently reminds the resident and offers assistance if it is needed. There is a medical director who takes good care of the residents, as well. This is a completely private pay facility, but there is a discount for veterans.
We have been so happy with Culpepper Place and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
