I visited this facility

I was working with my church on my way to pay a visit to one of our elderly members who had been confined to the home due to health issues. I have been in assisted living centers before but this time something new happened. I came in through the automatic sliding doors that was the front enterance on my way to the front desk to find help in locating the room I was headed for when one of the residents, a man in a wheel chair, stopped me with a tug on my shirt sleeve. He took a short look at me then asked me to help him escape through the doors I just entered through. I look at him trying to think of a response that satisfied the old man while still abiding by the rules of the living center. All I came up with was a quick plan acting as though I would distract the ladies at the front desk while he went for it. I of course then went to the front desk and enlightened them as to his intentions. To my amazement they weren't the least bit worried and assured me that as soon as he got to those doors alarms would sound and he would be carried back to his room. This place is a prison, I thought. The man could have been delirious I suppose but the whole seen left me with a bad taste in my mouth towards the nursing home. Sure enough, shortly before someone arrived to take me on my intended mission I hear a quiet buzzer and two burley men walk past me. I'm a little further down the hall when I hear the man protesting his removal from the front door, frustrated to have come so close.
