Elmcroft of Byrd Springs

Elmcroft of Byrd Springs was a small community. I liked the lay-out of the whole facility. It would have been my choice if my mom had gone into assisted living.

I moved my mom from another facility to elmcroft to save money. what a huge mistake. The Administrator was not helpful and nobody would take any responsibility. We moved my mom back to her 1st facility and she is happy again.

My experience was fairly good. The overall appearance of the building on the outside looked nice, there were elderly people sitting outside on rocking chairs. They looked content. The hallways were clean and vacuumed. The staff was very helpful. My first time visiting, I was not exactly sure where she was staying. They were very helpful on showing me where she was. While I was there, on multiple occasions, I would stay for quite a few hours, and multiple people came and checked on her. The only complaints that I have is that there is not central air and heat, and that the floors, although carpeted, and not padded very well. With the floors being that way, after a little while, my feet hurt. Overall, my grandmother says she is happy there, and is enjoying herself. She says the food is good, and they ensure she takes her meds, which is better than when she was alone.

From the moment you walk in the staff is friendly and show real compassion. The staff is professional and well trained. The residents are clean, bright and alert. They seem to be very content and happy here. There are many activities to choose from, Bingo, Bridge and Poker games, Concerts, Civic and Religious programs and worship services and Movies with fresh Popcorn and treats. The rooms are beautifully and good size. Laundry and Utilities are included as well as trash disposal. The facility is well maintained and the grounds are beautifully groomed. The dining hall is bistro style and the menu is well planned with tasty healthy options. Request are encouraged and accommodated. This is a lovely facility with compassionate staff. Your loved one will be in amazing hands here. I would place my loved one here.

Although it was very difficult to place our loved one; Hearthstone and the team have made it a home away from home for her. They have been very willing to think outside of the box to make things work well.
