Elmcroft of Cy-Fair

As a professional in the area, I have referred clients to Heartstone at Cy-Fair, which is an assisted living community, offering support services to persons needing help handling the tasks of daily living.

Most all clients have stated only positive comments regarding the facility & the quality services & staff. One daughter stated: "This is a beautiful place, everyone so helpful & friendly, I know Mother is getting the help she needs." Another daughter, whose Mother has Alzheimer's, said: "They (staff) do wonderful work with Mom, who has good days & bad ones. They are so caring, really involved with her & know her well, just do a really great job, Mom loves all of them."

It seems this assisted living community provides excellent services to their residents.

I visited this facility

I came here as a volunteer. I am a special ed teacher and my students were volunteering. They had so much fun. The staff were so friendly. We all went on a tour and we got to see the main unit and the Alzheimer's unit. The atmosphere was bright and cheery. It was clean and didn't stink (like some other nursing homes that I have been to). The residents looked like they were well taken care of. I talked with several of them and they were very friendly. After the tour, we went and participated in some of their daily activities. They had an exercise class. The instructor was very entertaining and the residents were having a blast and getting in shape. Then, the director asked if we wanted to participate in a different activity- painting nails. So, we moved on and I had the opportunity to paint the nails of some of the ladies. The ladies there were a hoot! I had so much fun. I highly recommend this facility to anyone!

Friend or relative of resident

My girlfriend's father currently resides at Hearthstone. The employees there seem to be very caring and genuinely responsible for the residents. Every time we have visited the home, a attendee has come and checked up on us and updated us on how Pop is doing. The other residents are always so happy to see us visit and we have gotten to know many of the residents when we visit the large community room. We actually even shared a meal at the home a couple of times and the food was not terrible. The home also allows for residents to have food delivered to the home, so that seems like a nice way to add a little spice to their meal plans. Nursing homes can be scary, but I think Hearthstone has done a great job in counter acting this stereotype and providing a positive place to live.
