I visited this facility
What a special place and this is clear from the moment you enter the doors. The staff greets you with a handshake and a warm smile. The facility is rich in color and well maintained. The common areas are clean and bright. The staff is well trained and attentive to the residents. The residents are happy, bright and alert. When the staff addresses the residents there is a certain respect you can hear in their voice. The staff is very aware these are their elders and there is a certain reverence about their interaction. The residents are also very respectful and friendly. The residents were also very happy to give me any information I might want to learn about the facility. The staff keeps the residents active and busy with exercise programs and outings off campus. They attend Civic programs and Religious services. The staff offers many activities here such as games, needle point, sewing classes, Chess tournaments, Bridge games. There are many other activities that keep them alert and bright all day long. These Seniors will never be bored, isolated or disengaged. They are wanted and loved here and they know it. The staff is excellent well trained and educated professionals. Outside therapies are also available such as PT, OT, and SP. There is a large Shopping center nearby and other city activities staff sees that the residents can attend or participate in. The dining hall is bistro style and is open seating which give them a chance to eat with new faces and make new friends. Wonderful facility I would call upon them if you’re seriously looking to place a loved one worth your time and consideration.
I am a friend or relative of a resident
My Mother moved into Wellington Place about two months ago. I drove all the way from Savannah Georgia to visit her a few weeks after she moved in to see how she was doing and check the place out. When I first pulled in the parking lot I wasn't too impressed with the building as it seemed pretty old and out-dated. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a friendly lady and directed towards my Mother's room. As I walked to the room I was acknowledged by almost every resident there and they were all so very polite. My mother's room was decently spacious, even though she took up a lot of that space with her large amount of furniture she wanted to hold on to. My mother talked about how nice the workers there are and how she had made so many friends. This made me so happy to hear as I was worried she wouldn't enjoy assisted living. She talked about how she loves getting her hair done from the hairdressers that work there and how she loves the food they offer. I could honestly tell she was appreciating the food due to the obvious amount of weight she had put on. She said she exercises a lot and goes on walks every day with her friend 'Susan'. Overall, I was very relieved to see how well-run the place was and how happy my Mother was. I would recommend Wellington Place to any others out there considering having one of their loved ones move into a assisted living facility.
