One of the things I love about this community is that there is not a high staff turn-over rate which is unfortunately usually the case in most senior living communities but not at The Aspens. Most of the staff members have been working in the community caring for the residents for years now. It is so great and can really help build a trusting foundation with the residents when you have a strong and stable care team. When staff members are coming and going through revolving doors it can be confusing, frustrating, and really inconvenient for the residents. A high turn-over rate means that the staff are not able to fully know and understand the residents and their personalities, preferences, etc. on a personal level and the residents deserve staff members who truly know them personally. Another great thing about the community is that many of the residents who live in the community have lived there for years, that says a lot about a community and the staff. Obviously if their are multiple residents who have chosen the community every year for years now that means that there must be something really special and great about the community, right? No one would stay in a bad community for years. I love chatting with the residents here, they look at issues that happen within the community in such a healthy way. They tell me that there are always going to be speed bumps, troubles, conflicts, and such but that what matters is the way people react to them and ultimately handle them and they say that any issue that has every happened in the past has always been dealt with by the staff in such a positive, speedy, and long-term manner that interferes with the residents daily routines as little as possible. They say that when you can find a staff that can stay level-headed and positive through stress and troubles than you have a care team that will provide you with a good life. I have had several residents say similar compliments about how the staff members deal with community issues. Overall the way the community is ran is exceptional and people notice it - it seems like every time I visit the community is celebrating a new award they won/achieved.
The food is AMAZING! I have had the pleasure of eating in the community a few times now and I love mealtimes here. I love that the dining room is always full of residents happily eating and laughing and chatting with each other. It's so much better than everyone eating in awkward silence where all you here is the clanging of flatware and dishes. The staff and residents really make mealtimes a social experience in this facility and I think it's wonderful. There are also always family members dining with the residents as well and I also like how close the families are to other residents as well, it's like a family comes to the facility with one loved one and eventually "adopts" dozens of loved ones! It is so nice to see that everyone is so close - so family-like.
I also really like all of the options available to the residents. They really do live lifestyles of convenience and choice and they have so many, many options to choose from.

What a nice and friendly place. Easy to find and the caregivers were so good to the people living there. I was very impressed with the large activity and exercise area that had a big class of people doing exercises. I think this would be a nice place for my grandmother.

I recently toured The Aspens as my mother's condition has greatly deteriorated and she is no longer able to consistently care for herself. I feel this assisted living facility would greatly meet the needs of my mother and just about any resident/patient who desires a warm, inviting, modern facility that is located away from major roads and is within a retirement community called Aspen Grove Apartments.
Several things my mother mentioned she really liked was the friendliness of the staff, the beauty shop, the bus service, the fitness center, the close proximity to several churches, and learning her community doctor makes frequent visits. There were many activities including a walking group, a bridge group, movie nights, and even local musicians that visit weekly. While we were there we were pleased to encounter a local bluegrass group that comes often and entertains the residents. Mom got a real kick out of the fiddle player.
To sum up our visit we found The Aspens to be a cooperative atmosphere of seniors along with a very professional staff and facility that will make a perfect home for my mother.
