I will be moving into Red Cedar Glen. It's very nice. It's been redone and some of the people that work there have been there for a long time. It's close to family and close to things that I'm used to being around. I was going to independent living, but some things happened that I'll have to go into assisted living for just a little while, and then I can go right back into independent living. It's all on one level. The staff was extremely nice and caring. They have a salon and workout facilities. They celebrate different things. I'm independent, but I will be in assisted living for a while. It is nice that I can transition over very smoothly.

We went to the Red Cedar Glen. The staff was very wonderful, explained everything, and took us on a nice tour. The facility seemed clean and nice, and everybody was friendly. I believe they don't have stoves in there, but they do have refrigerators. The staff during the tour was very attentive, very kind, and very knowledgeable. They had a cheese and cracker tray for me, but we didn't eat lunch with them. We saw a courtyard or a place to sit down.

My mother lives at Red Cedar Glenn and absolutely loves it. She has a large room with private bath. There is also a nice little set up with a sink, cabinets and a small refrigerator. All of the staff are wonderful. Great caring and concern. It is like one big family. Her social calendar stays full with the many activities they provide. She exercises several times a week, plays bingo, domino's along with many other types of activities. She has made many friends with the residents. The 3 meals a day she receives are top notch. The Chef is awesome. I am so happy that my mother is so content and has a place she loves to call home. Maureen Linder

Red Cedar Glen was the one I liked the best. It just seemed like a very supportive atmosphere, is my take-away. It looked like they were very well appointed, that like they looked new and had nice fixtures and nice layout. So I was impressed. It looked like had a bingo group, a bridge group, they had art activities like painting classes and things like that. So it looked like there was a lot of emphases put on activities. I saw a library, and there are outdoor areas like a gazebo where people can sit outside. There's an art room with supplies and there was also a sewing room as well.

I went to Red Cedar Glen last year. We are familiar with it, and we have another family member there also. They have large rooms compared to the other places, a dining area as well, and they have formal dining. My husband was able to eat there. They have bingo, crafts, and church services, and they have a bus and go sightseeing. They have puzzles, cards, and interactive things that they do. The staff is very friendly, they know the residents, and most of the residents I talked to were happy. My mother-in-law has been there for a little over a year now. They have a common area, they watch TV, and do many things. They are one big, happy family.

If you care about your loved ones, this is NOT the place for you. Office staff are polite and give you the sense of a wonderful, caring facility, but there are problems with the nursing and other staff. There is little to no communication. Communication is essential during this time of COVID, since you cannot enter the facility. Don't expect to hear about changes in meds, health, or if there have been tests run about your loved one. Food is served in styrofoam containers and because of the size of the facility, they are cold by the time it reaches your loved ones. Meals are often missed being delivered to residents. It is hard to reach the office or nursing staff after hours, or weekends as the phone rings off the hook. They are understaffed tremendously and use outside temp services to meet quotas who don't care why they are there. Activities are few and far between. No effort is made to reduce the numbers to have activities during the pandemic. Don't be fooled, keep looking.

Most rooms are in desperate need of renovation. (Popcorn ceilings coming off in areas), poor A/C units, old carpet, few electrical outlets, and extremely small. Management & Staff (with a few exceptions) are below average, with heavy turnover. Concerns are either dismissed or not adequately addressed. Billing is a nightmare. Over billing and no notification of missed payments are common. The food is completely unacceptable. Inadequately cooked, poorly planned, tasteless and extremely small portions. Kitchen Director was unwilling to hear concerns and immediately took a defensive posture during our discussion. Although she did agree to increasing my parent’s portioning, this only happened for one meal. My parent has had to purchase meals outside of the facility in order to properly eat. This is an extreme concern due to Covid-19, and heartbreaking, as meals are the only thing residents have to look forward too during related restrictions. My hope is that this company will look first, to the needs of their Residents, and provide a welcoming and positive experience for them, as they are in their last years of life. The cost of living at this facility does not meet the care provided.

My mom is at Red Cedar Glen signing in right now. She will be moving in today. It was just perfect for her. It's exactly where she wanted to be in the area, the little apartment was cute and the people were just wonderful there. The staff there was wonderful. She even sent us lunch. She answered every question. She was the big reason why we chose there. The food was really good. The facility looked great. My mom got to meet some of the other residents because we were there at lunch time. Everybody was just so friendly. It seemed like a family environment. It looked more like a little community. However, the facility was a little bit older and not as up-to-date.

My mother-in-law just moved into Red Cedar Glen. It's been very nice, the staff has been very helpful, and that was the deciding factor for her. She has a two-bedroom apartment, but they gave her some options since they were renovating it. They have chair yoga, they have a bus that will take her to places during the week, and they have bingo; she likes that. She has her own entrance, and she likes that because she still drives, and therefore can be close to the parking lot. They have a beauty salon, a full dining room for three meals a day, and an activity room.

Dawn and everyone at Brookdale Hendersonville have made the transition for my parents Betty & Buck who will be moving in on November 4th. They will be leaving a home they have lived in for over 40 years and had it not been for the warm and caring reception they received on their visit I am not sure they would have agreed to making this move. They really made my brother and I feel comfortable having them in this location as we both live out of state, with me moving back to Hendersonville in 2018.

My mother is in Brookdale Hendersonville. It's very nice, and she's adjusting to it as far as I can tell. She's only been there two weeks, and everything is going very well. Everyone who works there is extremely nice. She has played bingo and went to church on a Sunday. She uses the dining room but hasn't gone on any little trips nor anywhere in the bus. She is in a one-room efficiency with maid service that's very good. It was very clean when we moved in. They painted it and cleaned it. It's a five-minute drive from her church and where she has lived since 1964. She likes the food.

The apartment at Brookdale Hendersonville was good-sized. People were really helpful and friendly. They had a nice dining room, and my dad has a patio so he can smoke outside. They had a move in special that no one could match. They’ve been really helpful in keeping me updated with my dad and what’s going on with him ,and he's got people who help him with his healthcare. They went out of their way to make sure he's comfortable. There's somebody who comes and cleans once a week and does his laundry. They just take really good care of him. They're very good.

Brookdale Hendersonville North was a nice little community. It was actually our favorite place. They had individual detached bungalows, but closed to the facilities like the dining room and the club house. It was in a circle, and we liked that place. The person that assisted us there was very pleasant and very accommodating. We had spoken to three of the residents and had a meal there. What we experienced was to our liking.

I went into Brookdale Hendersonville. It was fantastic. The staff was fantastic people. The came over and visited me in the hospital, and they encouraged me to come. They really took care of the people that were there. They were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and beautiful. You moved your furniture in, and you put your furniture in there. They had sunlight that came in. It was really good. The girls came in to vacuum and clean the bathroom. It was just a clean, beautiful place. The location was very good. It was close to Wal-Mart. They had lawn movers once a week mowing the ground. It had flowers. The front porches had rocking chairs. They had swing with umbrella type thing over it. You could sit out there and eat if you wanted to. It was just very beautiful there. They had activities. They had bingo and mind games. They had someone that came in maybe twice a month like one lady came in and she dances. They had game night. They could watch free TV. You had sodas and popcorn, and you could watch the game if you wanted to. They had chair exercises.

Brookdale was a nice facility, but the cost was what we are missing. The primary caregiver for my mom looked liked it’s gonna fall through. The staff was nice, they had great amenities, and there were a lot of people there. They do games, and they had really nice grounds and common areas.

Brookdale Hendersonville is all on one floor, and it was quite widespread, which is a problem because you will be required to do too much walking. But it was a very nice facility. The services they offer are quite good. They have medical professionals on site.

They will tell you everything you want to hear before you move there & be at your beck & call for any questions. Once they get you moved there everything changes. The nurses are nice. The meals are terrible, maybe one good one a week. The management doesn't return calls. They never do anything they say they are going to do. Our family member has only been there a short time & he wants to move. Looking for another facility. Talk to other residents & their family members before you move your loved one here.

Brookdale Hendersonville was much older and didn’t smell very good when we went in. The people were nice. The apartments were tiny, and the location was kind of far out; even though it was in a nice location, it’s still very rural.

My dad and my stepmom both backed out on going in Brookdale Hendersonville (Formerly Pennington Place). They went up there and looked at it, and they really did like it. I went up there three times myself and talked to the staff, and they were just excellent. I see no reason why anyone would be put off by being up there. It is just a really nice place. The dining area is like a restaurant. They got a menu and you pick from the menu, they bring it out, and it's a lot of good food. The rooms are big enough for a person that's going to be living in a facility like that. It's nothing like being at home, but they're big enough to accommodate what you need. I have no problem with them, and I really wished they had gone up there.

We chose the Pennington Place because the price is right, and it is not far from where I live. The people are very nice, and the place is clean. They have a two-bedroom apartment which I really like, and my parents are happy there. They love the apartment, so that is great. They serve 3 meals a day, and the big meal is at lunchtime, but they were disappointed with the food. They said it is lousy, and they get very small portions. They have games, and somebody comes to play music.

Pennington Place is an independent living, but they do serve my mother meals. They will check on her occasionally, but it is not like an assisted-living. They will keep an eye on her or give her medications to her for a fee.

Pennington Place was probably one of the older facilities in the area, but it had some qualities that I liked. The best thing I liked about it was that it was just one storey. In fact, you would feel like you were more in a house, and it was like you had a little apartment that was very nice and you could park outside. They invited us to eat and everything smelled good, but we didn't eat there. The grounds were nice. They kept the grounds up, but the way it looked to me, some of the residents were planting their own flowers and that gave them the opportunity to go out and do something.

We visited Pennington Place in a day when they were having an open house and a garage sale with our son and his wife. It was a Saturday afternoon and they had live music going on outside the parking lot. It was a very festive type of day. We ate there and we saw two-bedroom units. The real plus in their units was that you could reach them from the inside hallways or you could park your car outside the door. The personnel manager that I talked to was very nice. But as for anybody who could come to the room, we hadn't met them. I wanted to do this while we were both able to make the decision. If we knew which one we wanted to go into, it would be easier for our son to make the decision. But we were still both able to drive though he's 79 and I'm 75. But since we wanted to get out of the homeowner thing, we just said its time to make a move. One of the things we were looking at independent living was if when we could not live independently anymore, we would like to be home. The worst-case scenario for me was Alzheimer's at this point and Pennington Place had a vision that if you had Alzheimer's, you would just went down a different hallway. I thought that was a plus.

If you like eating breakfest at 8am, then a big lunch at 11:30 and then a snack for dinner at 4;30, and then waiting till 8am to eat breakfest again than this is the place for you. New people moveing in get nice new upgraded appartments. The people that have been here still have appartment that were never renovated. we always come last, even when it comes to work orders. the new appartments come first or top priorty, They run out of their main dish sometimes so if you are last to be served you get to eat a salad and if you don't like salads you go without. That just the way it is. Staff is friendly when you first arrive but once your in who cares. Nurses are great. Rooms are great. Nice to be on one floor. There buss takes you doctors appointments and trips to stores. All the hollidays are wounderful except Veterains Day, nothing. If their food was better I would give it a 4 star.

My mother-in-law had been at Pennington Place for a while in their assisted living area. The staff were very good and very polite. The apartments were very nice and big, but I just didn't seem to see people coming out. It was more of a quiet and reserved place. I just think they need to get the residents get more involved, let them get together, and have each other's company.

Pennington Place was very nice. We liked it for one major reason. It was single level and you had a ground entrance into whichever apartment you might have. The staff was very nice and very polite.

My family and I have been very pleased with the care my grandmother has received at Pennington Place. We hated the idea of placing her in a nursing home or really anywhere other than home. The staff at Pennington Place has quickly become a second family. They look after my grandmother as if she was their family as well. The facility is always clean, and the food they offer is excellent. The many activities keep my grandmother busy when we can't be with her. I am very grateful for the caring staff. It is such a relief to have found a place where she can be cared for and be so happy.

We visited Pennington Place of Hendersonville together with my husband. They have a beautiful and wonderful place. This community caters a restaurant-like dining area. The staff that we spoke with was extremely helpful. They are very accommodating. They toured us to the place, and from what we saw the residents looks really happy and it feels like home. We are looking forward to be in this home-like environment. I will definitely recommend this facility to others.

My grandmother was a resident for several years at Pennington Place. She was very happy with the facilities in general. She enjoyed her room, and felt it was spacious enough, even though she had a very large house. She was satisfied with the number of activities scheduled for the residents. One particular thing I remember her enjoying is the decorating of their doors for holidays (e.g., Christmas). She would be so proud when she 'won' the competitions. And my mother (her daughter) would always help her and that gave them additional time together. I also remember how friendly the staff was and how they respected the autonomy for the residents. The facility also provided transportation to places like the grocery store, pharmacy, etc. This took some of the time burden from our family members. My grandmother was very active in many social circles, and the various outside activities (e.g., outings to events, parks, theaters, etc.) gave her lots of social interaction and exciting things to do in her week. I will always appreciate what the staff did for my grandmother individually, and in general for their residents.

My aunt has been there for 2 weeks. At first they told us that she would have a telephone in her room. Now they say that she can only have a phone when she gets acclimated to the surroundings. I said "what if it takes her 2 years to get acclimated?" The reply was " then it will be 2 years before she gets a phone". Not nice people.

I really did not want to put my grandmother in this place, but I had no other choice and it seemed like the best place out of all of the ones I looked into. They did provide excellent service and when I visited her every weekend she would tell me the good and the bad of being there. The good was always higher than the bad. She would talk very highly of it, she was never bored, she was able to see and talk to friends very often, she had things to keep her entertained, but the one complaint she always had was that there wasn't always someone there for her.. as in if she needed help, or had a question, it would always take awhile for someone to come to her. She said she thinks they are short staffed, and I asked about that to an employee and she did say they have more residents than their small staff could handle, but they were in the process of getting more employees. I surely hope they did because if so this place would be amazing for someones loved ones.
