I was wary of nursing homes at first because I have heard so many negative things about them. So as you might guess, when the conversation of what to do with my mother, originally I said anything but that. I did some research, and learned about all the local nursing homes. The rumors I heard were way off. The staff was wonderful to their patients and provided many various activities for them . Originally I had followed the stereotype that all nursing home residents did all day was play bingo. However there is so much more than that. They play all sorts of games for all sorts of levels. Those with a higher level of ability play complex card games, or kickball. And those who cant do as much have simpler activities. The staff is willing to adapt to each patient's needs. I loved the professionalism the nurses displayed, and loved how friendly everyone was.
