My sister-in-law is at HarborChase of Gainesville. She's in memory care. I like the staff. I like the way they seem to care about people. They get to know them. They're not just lying in their bed. They take care of them. I ate one time there and the food was excellent. They have all kinds of groups come in, church groups, bands. Depending on the holiday, they seem to have something going on all the time. The staff is wonderful. A lot of the staff has been there for a long time, which is unusual for places like that. They've been there for two-and-a-half years that she has been there. I know them, they know me, and they take good care of her. They're good. They remodeled just before I took her over there and they keep it nice and clean. You don't have any nursing home smells or anything like that. It's always kept up nice. I don't have anything bad to say about the facility. Those places cost a lot of money, but they take care of her.

I checked out HarborChase of Gainesville. I was very impressed with it, but that's based on one visit only. I thought they had an excellent place. They provided entertainment and opportunities like painting and stuff like that, so I was very impressed. Overall, I would give it a very high rating. When it's time for me to go someplace, that probably is where I would go. For activities, they had someone singing, they had a piano, and they had art classes, so those were nice. It was clean, it smelled clean, and it was very inviting. I met with the man in charge of the tour, and he was very kind. He even gave me a bottle of wine, which was very nice. I was very impressed with him, too. It seemed like he was very well-suited for that job. They had a really good cook there, too. They had muffins out and I've got to say it was delicious. The physical facility itself was in good condition. It had a good smell, and it was very appealing. I saw a room and it looked very nice. It had a big window.

HarborChase of Gainesville was very nice and very clean. Had my father been eligible for assisted living, I would have considered them. I had an appointment and they were waiting for us when we got there. The person that gave me the tour was very knowledgeable about the area. She was very helpful. She took us and showed us rooms that were available. We went by and saw where the residents were sitting around watching a movie and she showed us the activity. So, we saw the full facility. The rooms and the bathrooms were very large. The two that we saw both had windows and that's important to my dad that he has a window. So, that's the reason I focus on that. It would be easy for somebody in a wheelchair to maneuver around. You bring your own furniture. The hallways were plenty wide enough. They were very nice rooms.

I had been to HarborChase of Gainesville for a tour. It was very close to the road, and the roads were very busy. The people were nice, the area was clean, but it had two levels and the lower level was not bright, so I did not like that. They had a café-style area where you could go and get food at any time that you wanted if you did want to have what was on the menu. The rooms were all about the same. All of them were all about the same size, and they all had a private bath with a walk-in shower.

I toured HarborChase of Gainesville. Everybody was very, very friendly. It was very nice and very clean. They had things there for the residents to do. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very nice. They were all clean cut. From what I observed, they were very good with the residents. The food looked good, and the dining room area was nice and clean. When I was there, they were playing bingo. They had different art activities and exercises. They had a beauty shop. The building was immaculate, even down to the maintenance.

The tour with HarborChase of Gainesville was good. They had multiple open common areas that were deemed to recreate people's home areas. They also had a very large courtyard and screened-in porch that the residents had access to as far as outdoor space goes. The staff were very nice and very knowledgeable. They were able to answer all our questions. The main thing that turned us away from them was that they only accept small dogs, and my uncle has a medium-sized dog, so that was an unfortunate sticking point because otherwise their facilities and everything was very, very nice. The units were small apartments/studio style. The rooms that we looked at were studio-style ones. They had a sitting space and a bedroom-sleeping area. The bathroom has an open-door walk-in shower. All the facilities had an alarm cord in the bathroom in case of a fall. They had some combinations of rooms like if it were a married couple that was looking to move into the assisted living side together, they could combine two of the studios to make a larger single apartment type thing, which wasn't something that we were expecting to utilize, but it was a nice thing to see that they offered. The staff were very nice and very knowledgeable.

My mother was a resident at Harbor Chase of Gainesville, FL for 3 short months...from May 1 to July 26, 2020. She recently passed on July 26, 2020. I never heard a word from Harbor Chase regarding her passing. That is just pathetic. I called the day after (Monday) to find out what I needed to do about getting her personal belongings. I dropped containers off on Monday but never heard back from them. I then called on Friday and was told someone would give me a call. I gave them until Tuesday the following week to contact me...still nothing. 9 days and still no word or offer of condolences on the loss of my mother. She was a number to them, an income but nothing more. How can a facility that is supposed to care for our elderly loved ones be so callused to family members who are grieving the loss of the loved one in their care by not extending a simple phone call!? Harbor Chase should be ashamed! I am hurt beyond words...my mom was not acknowledged in anyway by this facility. I'm absolutely heartbroken that my mother and I were treated this way by Harbor Chase in a time of sorrow.

HarborChase of Gainesville's staff was unbelievable and really nice. They went out of their way to greet you, say hi, and were so friendly. That really impressed us. The only reason why we didn't choose them was because of their a la carte pricing structure. The place was clean and very well-kept.

There was so much activity at HarborChase. It was beautiful and the people were engaged constantly, if they so chose to be. It was very nice, and I liked the presentation. The dining area was beautiful, like a high-end restaurant. It was clean and without odor. It looked like a beautiful hotel and was expensive. It was about five minutes from the nearest hospital.

The rooms at HarborChase of Gainesville didn’t seem to be laid out well and weren’t appealing. I thought the dining area was nicely decorated but didn’t have a good view of the outside world. They had a club room where they had a bar for happy hour, popcorn, and to play cards. They had a TV room out front where they had movie night.

HarborChase of Gainesville was very nice. The only problem I had was it had a smell, and I didn’t really like that, but the staff was nice. They gave me a tour, but I just wasn’t impressed. There were some activities going on when I was there like bingo. The menus and the rooms looked adequate. I looked at a 1-bedroom and 1-bath, but you have to bring your own furniture.

HarborChase of Gainesville was very good, and the people are nice. They have everything, but it’s just too expensive. There was nothing that wasn't positive about it, except that it's too much money. They have Bingo, movies, ice cream in the afternoon, and craft days. They have an itinerary that they follow for activities. It's a good place.

The maintenance manager at HarborChase of Gainesville gave us a very nice tour, I was able to call back on Monday, and we went back in and spoke to the director. She was very helpful, and we got all the information we needed. We put a deposit down, there was an opening after that, and it worked for us very well. They've gone above and beyond to make this happen. We went to both memory care unit and assisted living; they were actually having a movie gathering in the assisted living portion, and there was a lady there engaging them. They were also working with the memory care residents and trying to engage them, so we felt really good about that. They were our favourite from the beginning, so we were fortunate to have my mother in there.

HarborChase of Gainesville was very nice but I couldn’t afford it for my mom. They were friendly. Everything was very plush-looking. The residents were exercising when we went through. They showed me a spacious room with its own bathroom, but it was too expensive. The dining room was very clean and very spacious-looking. Everything looked brand new.

HarborChase of Gainesville was good and had first-class physical therapists. Some of the younger staff had attitude problems and acted their age in the exercise area. The rooms were more like a hospital and average sized. The food was horrible. They should improve the quality of their food.

My visit at HarborChase of Gainesville was OK. The people were receptive. They have a receptionist upfront, and she was very receptive. The person who gave us the tour was very accommodating. She showed us the rooms, and I saw that the rooms were not what I was looking for my mom.

My husband is in Harbor Chase. He is actually happy there. The social atmosphere and being with the group of people is so beneficial for him. Their services is very good. His room is very nice. The beauty of Harbor Chase is they do have a nice bathroom with a walk-in shower. They have a huge window, and it looks over their outdoor area. He participates in the activities. He is still very mobile himself. They have a kind of a walk around in the whole inside of the building, and he will take some of the residents -- the ones that needs to walk, but can't do it by themselves. They let him do that. They have a sing-a-long, bingo, exercise classes, ice cream socials, and a lot of social activities. They have a men's club where they have all the guys together. Harbor Chase has a higher amount of staff per resident than some of the other places, and I did like that. The main things that I see there is that he is happy and his room is really clean. They do all the laundry. He is clean, even his clothes.

My experience with HarborChase is fine. It is very good. The people are great, and they are very good with the clients. They are friendly. It is kind of a small homey atmosphere. They have a good program of events. It is for my husband, but he hasn't moved in yet. I just think they have a caring atmosphere.

Our experience with HarborChase has been good. The facility is very clean. Mom is in their memory care unit. She appears, from day to day when I go visit, to be well cared for. There isn't much we can ask. The food is good, and she seems to be eating. They watch her medicines, and they are on top of the changes with her drugs and things that need to be done. However, there are some limitations on their part, being that they are not a nursing home, and they don't have doctors on staff, so they have to contact her doctor to do certain things, and that's understandable. There is one issue: another resident is taking clothes from my mom's closet. The staff worked it out. It is taking a little while because they need to contact the woman's family. The woman is finally moving to a private room because she isn't doing it just to my mom, she's doing it to other people. The staff did everything they could to help alleviate that issue. Other than that, everything is OK. We are happy with the decision we made.

HarborChase had a very nice, homey atmosphere. The staff was very cordial. The rooms were very clean, very spacious, very nice. The food is very good. They have games and movies. They bring people in to sing and entertain, and they also take them out in the bus to different places. Within a mile, there are grocery stores and gas stations. It doesn't seem like an institution. It's just a nice place to live.

My Mother stayed at this facility for 7 nights. To the tune of $6,600 plus change. They will not communicate with me regarding reimbursement. I could have taken her to a luxury spa and gotten better care for her than this place

I visited HarborChase of Gainesville when I looked for a place for my mom. The place was clean and smelled great. They had two pet cats that greeted you when you went inside. They seemed to have a lot of activities for the residents like socials during Sunday, they took them to the other areas to socialize, and more. The rooms were pretty big. And the residents were happy.

HarborChase is absolutely beautiful and the 1-bedroom apartments were nice, big and roomy but we would have been put on a waiting list for about six months. The staff was very nice. She was assisted very well. They did give us some scones when we left and they were wonderful. My mother-in-law could have her choice of meals but it was almost $3,000 more a month. Dorothy could not afford that.

Recent management and staff changes have severely degraded the consistency of care at HarborChase of Gainesville. Undertrained and largely unsupervised staff have led to difficult problems starting in this past summer. In addition to linens being stolen and other inconveniences for which I have hot received reimbursement. I start the week finding out that staff evidently did not reclose my mother's locked door at night and a wandering man just came on in and got in bed and would not leave. This was in the middle of the night, I was not called until nearly 12 hours later and I am extremely upset. I went and checked things but security measures that are consistent with congregate care facilities were denied to my mother, plus it was implied that maybe my mother unlocked her door on purpose. Right! My sweet 90-year-old mom trolling for dudes? No way. You can bet this is going to be solved to my satisfaction or else. The Director was not called about this today. Tomorrow will straighten this out one way or another and my attorney is on speed dial.

HarborChase was my second choice for my father. They have a long-term care and skilled nursing there, which the other facility does not have. It is comparably the same size as the one where my father is at right now. I checked one of their rooms and it felt more closed-in. They were nice but it felt more like a hotel setting.

The people at Harborchase are outstanding. We went over there a couple of times. They were wonderful. The facility had a couple of really neat things, like a little 1950's cafe-drugstore type of thing. But you have to pay extra to order stuff from there. They seem to have an extremely active activities staff. They have things going on everywhere.

While in the area, we stopped in on the spur of the moment to see the HarborChase of Gainesville assisted living facility while searching for a place for my friend's mother to live. The staff was happy to show us around, despite the fact that we didn't have an appointment. The grounds around the main door were nicely kept, with flower beds and manicured lawns. The interior was inviting and we could smell fresh flowers. It was clear that they can handle different levels of ambulation and memory impairment. Some of the many activities and outings included local sight seeing, musical events, guest speakers, shopping, educational seminars, birthday and holiday celebrations, exercise programs and other varied social gatherings. The dining areas were warm and friendly. We tried some of the snacks which were all delicious. The staff takes the time to offer meals and snacks that look and smell very appetizing. The living spaces were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. We enjoyed our visit at this facility and would recommend that people in the area who are looking for a good home for an elderly person check it out.
