Elderberry Square

I have visited this facility a number of times over the past few years and on every visit I have witnessed several situations that could be teetering on the line of resident neglect and abuse. I have spoke with most of the residents living there at one time or another and have heard some pretty sad stories about how the staff treat the residents. I have had one resident, whom I know very well and I consider a very credible source, tell me that the staff tend to act differently behind closed doors. She told me that when families, visitors like social workers and myself, and other outside guests are in the facility that the staff are on their best behavior but then when it is just the staff and the residents like late at night, that the staff yells and treats the residents pretty horribly. I have personally seen the staff treat the residents inappropriately several times and I have often worried about what goes on when no one's around. I have expressed my concerns about resident treatment in this facility many times, the facility has had many prior complaints of abuse and neglect in the past and yet somehow for some reason it is still happening, I was there again just a week ago and I can see that things are still pretty much the same, though the facility itself seemed to be a bit cleaner this time. I hope that I can reach people through this review and warn them about the issues surrounding resident care in this facility, I would hope that those looking for a facility and choosing to tour Elderberry Square would first do a lot of research in to the facility's history. Finally, I want to make it clear that I absolutely have no personal vendetta whatsoever against Elderberry Square, they have never done any wrong doing against myself or my loved ones. My only concern is for the residents, each and every one of them, and my opinion of this facility only has to do with the treatment I witnessed and not the facility itself. I would be more than thrilled to one day write another review if I saw that Elderberry Square has made positive changes and I saw that the residents are being treated and cared for properly.
