Montreat Apartments

I had an aunt that lived in Montreat in the 1980's, a grandmother who lived there from 2000-2010 and an aunt that currently resides there. I have spent lots of time visiting there over different spans of my life. One thing that specifically comes to mind is that it is never-changing. It is always clean & welcoming. The apartments themselves are small, but the mgmt keeps them modern and nice. There is a lovely yard and gazebo. I am 30 yrs old now and the upkeep/maintenance/appearance/staff have always been consistent. It is a no frills type facility, but provides amenities such as a recreation room with up to date decor, and a large room residents/families can use for parties. They keep close security and there is always a receptionist at the door at the same time providing an environment where the more capable elderly can feel independent with their own space. I can't think of many things that haven't changed since the 80's - Montreat's standards are one of the exceptions.
