Emeritus at Dunedin

If i needed to be placed into a Assisted living facility, I would hope and pray my family would not place me here!! I have instructed them not to place me here!! The way these people are talked to by staff is terrible i have seen them push people,yell at them and i have even heard them threaten people here! I even have heard the upper management Debra C, as well as Ladonna H,speak down to other employees, and i have heard them talk to each other about another worker in front of guests and residents. I currently tying to talk my friend into finding somewhere better!!! Do NOT put your family into this facility.

I like the situation of the room in Emeritus. They each have their own separate bedroom and own individual closet. They have a lot of activities to do. It's in a little more quiet area.

There are many kinks in this facility that need to be addressed. They are trying to make adjustments for the best but they don't seen to be doing any good. Many of the employees need to be fired. I have witnessed for myself Residence being pushed, yelled at and treated horrible it is absolutely awful. I have made many attempts to the director of the memory care unit (ladonna H.) and the executive director (Debora C.) but nothing seems to be done. A few employees have even complained of the conditions of the work place and they are unhappy. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS IN THIS FACILITY.

i have worked in the public and the private sector, i have served in the Military, and seen much. this Home from top to bottom is the best run place i have seen matching even Disney

As with most assist liv. places, little is done re: what they say they will do. Mngmt makes excuses & is non responsive. Not enough caregivers. Staff take breaks at same time, leaving clients with no supervision. Caregivers in no hurry to help clients. Don't keep the records they say they do. Could care less if they don't follow schedule, i.e., client's shower day. Hide to eavesdrop on client/family conversations. We sometimes wait 1/2 hr for someone to just let family out of facility - all they have to do is enter a code next to the door!

Hello, My mother has Alzheimers. It was very heartbreaking having to put my own mother into assisted living. Ive heard horror stories on how people get treated bad at assisted living facilities. But i have heard good things from other people about Emeritus. Emeritus is always very helpful and friendly when we go and visit. They have very nice rooms and friendly staff. Almost everything is great about emeritus, but my mother has gotten into some "feuds" with other people living there. Some of the other people living there are unfriendly to her. But that is my only complaint. They have nice food three times a day, and snacks throughout the day. I really feel like she is being taken good care of at emeritus. They have good staff, i trust them. They all seem very friendly and professional, unlike other places where i saw young staff who seemed to me playing around to much. Overall it is a great place and i would recommend it to others.
