Elmcroft of Dillsburg

I like Elmcroft a lot. Mom stayed there for seven weeks. It's light, has an open floor plan, it's smaller in size, and there's less than 100 residents. Even the manager and staff participates in activities. They each take interest of those and they share it with the residents. One of the chefs I think comes and plays the piano with them and one of the community development director does trivia with them, so they're very hands-on.

They always knock before they come in, they call her by name and didn't call her "honey" or "sweetie", so I'd say they respected her. She isolated herself a little bit, but that has more to do with what was going on with her. She was in a lot of pain and she was trying to deal with whether or not she would go back to her apartment. And she did, and then just today, she decided that she needed to go back to Elmcroft. So she's actually going tomorrow.

It's close to us. My mom's been there since April. She's being treated very well.

My mom is currently in Elm Croft Senior Living & Memory Care. We chose this facility because it's just close to where we live. She's been staying there for 2 months now. The staff are all nice. What matters to us is that they treat her very well in this facility.

Elmcroft of Dillsburg is a lovely facility that seems to know how to really cater to the Senior population for all their needs and wants. The staff was lovely and went out of their way to see that all of the residents I observed were happy and well adjusted. The residents are active, bright and alert. The rooms are warm and inviting and rather large rooms for comfort. They are nicely decorated and the residents are encouraged to bring their own touches to make it home. The dining hall is nicely decorated for comfort and fine dining. The dining staff is attentive and goes out of their way to help and accommodate the residents. When a visitor comes to see a loved one they are also treated like family and the staff is friendly and warm. There is a special feel about this facility from the moment you walk through the doors. There is a very active activity calendar with many events and activities for all taste. There is a shopping excursion; there are concerts, arts events, civic programs and religious services. I hear from the staff Christmas is truly a special time here and you want to be part of their programs and activities. There are arts and crafts as well as game time. I saw two men in an intense Chess game. I see Chess matches lot in some of the facilities I have visited. Mind game and it helps keep them sharp. I would place my loved one here.
