Zero stars. Larry and Kelly are both a joke. Rick is nice and willing to help but is treated very poorly. Nurse who does not have the appropriate nursing license and the executive who sleeps in his office. I am working on moving my uncle out and thankfully do not have to deal with this community anymore. Floor staff is always helpful but scared to death every day. One of the staff members told me that she could not help me because "nurse gets mad and want to fire me".

Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Campus was awesome. They have all three levels of care, which is appealing and they have duplexes. You can have food delivered to your home or you could take your meals to the main facility. It was beautiful and we seriously considered it, but we're not ready yet. The staff showed us several of the duplexes, and they're all different. It's not like walking down the street and everything is the same. They have big yards that are taken care of. Each of them has a back deck, most of which overlooks the natural landscaping. That is beautiful there. They redid them every time someone left so that they were just spotless when we looked at them. It's like a brand new place and spacious. The staff was very nice. They've maintained follow-up. I saw the dining area, but the duplexes had full kitchens.

My Dad was only here 3 nights. Found him in a hallway, in a wheelchair, screaming bloody murder, no one helping him, employees ignoring him. I called 911, he had a severely broken hip. He died from it. Don't put your loved ones here.

I went to Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Campus. It was a nice place, and the lady was nice. She said she had this room available. My father checked it out; he didn't mind. She never got back to me. She needed his amount for insurance, how much he gets in Medicaid, and the amount for SSI. I asked the VA caseworker to send it over, get a hold of her, and give her the information, but I never heard back from either one of them. It was a pretty quick tour, nothing fancy. She wanted to hurry up and get it done, and she was just telling us it's a great place. She told us that she showed us all the amenities and all the things that come with it. I did have a guy there that his mother was there. He said it was a wonderful place, the best place he ever put his mom. Everybody was nice. They were all kind. It was a pretty decent area. My dad really liked it, which was the number one thing. The communication with the staff was poor. The upkeep was nice. It looked clean. It has a lot of room to walk around. The room isn't as big as he expected, but it's something that he can work with. I told him that it's quiet. There's not a lot of stuff going on. The only thing I think that was weird was the big staircases in the front. You have to walk up. They have elevators for the people that need it, but going up and down those stairs a thousand times instead of just using the elevator right when you walk in, that was just weird. It's the old Victorian home, so you can say it is an old building and that was the beauty of it. I did like the chandelier and the decorations and how they have it set up. Everything's old fashioned and antique.

My mom and I were desperate to find a place and had absolutely no luck in finding one- then there was an email recommending Eastern Star Mason Retreat Campus from a son of a resident there. After that email, one phone call to Barbara A. has changed everything. She made the whole process very easy - as though by magic all things impossible became possible. Suddenly my mom had a beautiful caring clean place to go to. The stuff is amazing and genuinely kind and efficient and they work so well together. My mom immediately fell in love with them. Nola who checked mom in smiled at my mom and welcomed her so nicely that we both felt a sense of relief that my mom’s care was going to be top natch. Rita remembered right away that mom likes to take her medicines with warm water and she gave her warm water right away. I really hope that mom will live more happy years at the Eastern Star Masonic Retreat Camp. Also what amazed me was that they bathe them at assisted living twice a week and that they take their trash out 3 times a day. I’m so relieved that my mom is in good hands as in these trying times it’s of utmost importance to find a place one can trust one’s precious loved one’s care to. Thank you Eastern Star!

I love the cottages at Eastern Star Masonic. I went to the memory care unit. It was a different atmosphere. One of the things I like about the place is there's a lot of traffic in the area, not within campus, but going in and out. They have buses even if you're in the cottages. They'll take you to your appointments or to your shopping. You wouldn't need a car to live there. It had a different feel than other places, it was more country and homey feeling. The staff is very involved with their residents. My name is on the list there, but it can take a year to get in there. The independent living was a nice neighborhood and while it was large, it was very neighborly. They have a huge recreation area where you can do community things. It had a really homey feel. A lady let us go through her cottage, talked to us a little bit, and she was really pleased with it. The cottages were nice sized, with a 1-car garage, a yard around them, a big kitchen, washers and dryers, and all of them were 2-bedrooms. I think there was only one shower, but it's easily accessible. The front room was a nice size. It had couch, two chairs, a TV, a place for personal items, and tables. You could eat in the kitchen, too.

I visited Eastern Star Masonic, and the place was OK. It would have worked for me just fine except that it was too far away from my family. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They showed us everything they have to offer. The grounds were kept up well. Their apartments were well kept up and have fresh paint. It looks like the place is well maintained. I would recommend this place.

My dad only went to one other facility, and that was the Masonic Retirement up in Denver because he is a mason. He wasn't very impressed with it. There was a gentleman who was passing by, and the salesperson who was giving us the tour said, "Come on in here, Tom, and talk to us." He was a retired military guy and was talking to dad about it. He said that it was a nice place, and the people were nice. And then, we asked about the food, and he said, "It is institutional food." He didn't give us the impression that it was going to be good food.

We go to Eastern Star for the church service. I liked that we know the people there. They have a new Alzheimer's facility on site and I do like that one. I don't know if they take Medicaid. I've seen for three or four years now how they treat their people and they do have a real concern for everybody. It's all in one floor community and that's good. The dining area is nice. It's not fancy but it's nice.

In a world of often questionable assisted care facilities, the Eastern Star Masonic Home stands apart as a shining beacon of respect and dignity for seniors in the golden years of life. First and foremost, the staff exudes a genuinely love for the individuals that they care for. The home is subsidized largely by charity, thus residents are treated as members of a community that enjoys life to the fullest every day, not merely numbers. Food is delicious and plentiful, so good that residents frequently receive visiting family and friends to enjoy a scrumptious lunch or dinner. The grounds come complete with gardens and numerous walking trails that make for a relaxing after-meal walk. Whether a loved one needs complete later-life care, or just a helping hand here and there, there is no better place in Colorado to trust one's elder family members to than the Eastern Star Masonic Home.
