Vancrest Assisted Living - Delphos

I visited Vancrest of Delphos as a Medical Student during my Family Medicine Rotation in Delphos Ohio. When I was told that I was doing a portion of my rotation at a local nursing home, I expected a sad place filled with miserable people. Instead, I found a facility filled with caring staff, and residents enjoying a variety of activities, from simply socializing with their neighbors to structured activities with the staff. I examined several of the residents, and found them to be in good health and good spirits. The residents received excellent regular medical care, and the staff, while mostly nursing aides or medical assistants, was equal parts compassionate and professional. As a future medical professional, I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to the residents total needs; medical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual. If the situation were to arise that required me to find a spot in an assisted living facility for a member of my family, and I was to find myself living near Delphos, Ohio, I would definitely strongly consider a placement in the Vancrest Assisted living facility of Delphos Ohio.
