Arbor House of Desoto

This used to be a very good facility with very good care takers. Approximately a little more than a year ago there was a change in the Executive Director position. Every since then this facility has gone down. The morale of the care takers got low and most of the good care takers have left . Several of them shared information with me about the working conditions under the new Director. All care takers are new with the exception of one at this time. Residents are allowed to wear other residents clothes, diapers you purchase come up missing (they are being used on other residents). A lot of my loved ones clothes are missing (the name was placed on all of them) I understand if an item or two may get mixed up but not half a closet of clothing. That means there is no control in place and the management does not care. When you take your concerns higher up you don't get much satisfaction. A high turn over of workers that was not there before should get upper managements attention. I have come in a few times recently to smell unpleasant odors. In the past I would highly recommend this facility now I would discourage anyone from considering this facility. I am planning on moving my loved one somewhere else.

My precious mom is at Arbor House. She is well taken care of. I appreciate the wonderful spirit and the kindness of the staff. It is hard work and truly a labor of love. Arbor House is always clean and family members are always made to feel welcome. Whenever there are problems and concerns, they are addressed and taken care of.

I have a loved one at this facility. He suffers from dementia. The staff is well trained and his needs are well met. He is happy, participates in activities, always well groomed and the meals are well prepared. Of course I understand that everyone has specific needs, however I am glad that I found this particular facility for my loved one.
