I visited this facility

The apartment at Copperfield Hill looked very nice. They have one and two-bedroom apartments. The layout of the building was also very nice because they have an atrium in the ceiling. So you get daylight and light in the middle of the building. That's very pleasant. You can come out of your apartment and walk around to a lighted place or whatever. You're not just in your apartment all the time. They have a lot of activities and the activities seem to be arranged around the edges of the center. Plus, the light comes down the middle, and then you can look and see what activity is going on or who's doing what. They have a lot of things, from card games to puzzles, to a workout gym, to movies every so often. They have a bus that has a schedule and takes people to various things each day of the week like shopping or doctor's appointments. The staff seemed very pleasant and amenable. I have called one or two times to talk to them. They have a newsletter that comes out every month with activities of what's going on and they've been sending me one of those every month since I registered that I was interested.

I toured Copperfield Hill and I saw that it was a nice place to live if you would need assistive care or health care. The rooms were nice. They have two separate rooms for people so they don't have to share a room, they have their own separate rooms but they share a living area. They have like a little kitchenette and a sitting area. Then they showed me where they eat and where they have their activities and where they play games. It's not a huge place or anything, so you walk in and there's the sitting area. They have a chapel there, and they were doing arts at the time. I liked the area, it was a nice-looking room with a bed and a dresser.

My overall experience at Copperfield Hill is interesting. They're going through the same as everybody else with problems of workers not showing up. The living atmosphere is alright. My room is OK. It's comfortable. It's got a kitchen. The staff is like the staff anywhere else. Some of them are very nice and some of them are not so nice. Food has been improving since they got a different cook. The food is edible now instead of being overcooked, burned, or anything else. I don't go to most of the activities here because they're early in the morning and I'm not an early riser. They have a library and it is pretty nice. They have an exercise room that's got a treadmill in it. Maintenance is good.

I like the overall community of Copperfield Hill as a whole. It's a lot safer community than where my mom currently lives. They have a lake they could walk to. The activities are a lot more conducive to my mother's needs. They have all of the care that my mom needs as her life and health progress. They have a lot of outside activities during the summer, like concerts for the elderly and art projects. It was really quiet in there. The staff seemed to be checking up on the residents, and I liked that. The staff was nice and friendly. The facility looked clean and well- kept. I got a chance to tour a couple of different apartments, and it didn't look like a previous person had lived there. It looked like it was set up to be ready if somebody moved in, and I liked that. They have staff available 24 hours.

My mom's been in Copperfield Hill for about three years now. She is in a secure memory care unit, so she's safe and not able to get out and wander. It used to be very, very nice. They used to have a recreation coordinator who would come around and do things with the residents like singing, doing crafts and reading, but they don't do any of that stuff anymore. The people who work there have changed. I used to see people coming through vacuuming or cleaning up the bathrooms, and I don't see that much anymore. Since she's been there, this is like the third head person on the floor.

I toured Copperfield Hill. It was really dirty, it's old it's run down and not taken care of well at all. It was disappointing. Just from the kitchens, everything has paint chipping off the wall, all the floorboards and baseboards are rotted out. It was atrocious. I met two people, they were very nice. The person who walked me through the facility was phenomenal, she was one of the nicest people I met in my life and the other person was the same. They were great. One worked there for ten years, and the other worked there for six years. They're cheap to get in, but they're so cheap to get in because they haven't put any money into the facility, so it looks the way it looks. They don't even have cable. She said they had a lake in the back and they do activities. They had a 1-bedroom and there's a room with two people together that's considered a 1-bedroom plus. So they had to have a roommate. They had an elevator, the elevator floor was wood, it was not even carpet.

I visited Copperfield Hill in Robbinsdale assisted living. It's pretty good, but a little more active than what my mother could do. The staff was nice, helpful, and gave good information. The rooms are more like a roommate situation. You have your own bedroom, but you share the rest of the apartment. I saw their dining room, too. It looked like a normal dining room with lots of tables. Their upkeep and maintenance were good. The place was clean and nice. It seemed like a family-oriented community. There are a lot of good things like they were taking people shopping (those who are more mobile). I also remember them making flowers for the dining room tables. The staff is pretty nice and seem to know the clients by name.

Copperfield Hill is a kind of community where there are a lot of stores and shopping nearby. There's a lake approximately one block from the building, so there are places to walk. It's a pretty safe environment. My mom's room is small, but it's clean. She lives in a companion suite where there's two of them in that space. They have their own rooms separately, but they share a community kitchen and a community bathroom within that space. The dining area is also clean and organized. There's a lot of room to navigate between tables for those who are using a walker or wheelchair. Each table has a number assigned. The food looks appetizing, balanced, fresh, and adequate. Right outside of the cafeteria, there's an area where they can go out to just sit and enjoy the sun or just get fresh air. Each wing of the assisted living unit has skywalks and in each of those skywalks was an adequate room where you could sit down and visit with family friends They have air conditioning, minimum workout equipment, a bike that you can ride in one of the lounges, an activity room, singing activities, bingo, and walking activities where she has participated. The staff is what makes that place special. Everybody's been professional, courteous, and kind.

There are a lot of good things about Copperfield Hill. What I liked the best was, that the neighborhood that it's in has access to an outside lake and trees in the neighborhood. I also liked all the things that it offered, and the variety of care levels it offered. There's nothing that I would think they need to improve. It's just a very large community. There are a lot of people that live there, so that was a little overwhelming at first. I also went and visited during the morning, which is a busy time. Otherwise, it's quiet. The tour was professional and I learned a lot of information. The woman that gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, on task, on time, answered all the questions and gave a lot of information. They had a plethora of things. It's close to family members, and it's near hospitals, shopping, banking, and entertainment.

I visited Copperfield Hill, it was nice and the neighborhood was good. It was family-owned and seemed like they had a lot of activities, and different levels of care so you could transition. They were good. The person who showed me around was very nice, real, open, and not pushy or cold. Different areas of the building changed a little bit, like when you get into the lower-income, that seemed a little less high-quality. They're one of the two places I liked the best.

We've chosen Copperfield Hill Senior Living for my mother. The independent and assisted are all in one facility. We chose this place because of the helpfulness of the staff and the flexibility that she needs. It's an interesting design concept, the atrium. It's conveniently located to a little downtown of Robbinsdale. The rooms are very nice. The administration is flexible. The staff is excellent, including the marketing agent. Their menu looks fine, and the dining area looks fine.

Dina - Thank you for the kind review for Copperfield Hill. Our team is honored to work with your family to provide a flexible option to care for your mother.

We went to Copperfield Hill. We loved it, it had a very comfortable and home-like setting, and I think the programs they're offering were wonderful. They have pick-up service where they can take people to the doctor if they have to go, or grocery shopping, and it's clean. We were just very pleased.

My overall experience with Copperfield Hill was positive, but my finances would not allow me to live there right now. The staff was knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. The rooms were a bit small, and the bedrooms and the living rooms were small. The dining area was OK, but there's nothing spectacular about it. They had dancing, card games, movies, exercises, and yoga.

In reviewing the facility my first thoughts were "Wow"! Amazing, luxurious, so accommodating! Unfortunately experience does not match expectation. My father is dying and my mother not in good health. His health is quickly declining so stepped up services for health ckecks. Nightly responses to a button around his neck. We are up to a 5% nightly response time. the staff doesn't show up when he falls and my aging mother has to struggle to get him up or he lies on the floor all night. One night response person finally showed up saying she was the only staff on duty. Almost $6k a month for "extra services" . Who's making money here while lack of response could lead to a parent's death?

My parent needs consistency, but you won't find that at Copperfield Hill. They never have enough staff. They can't seem to keep their employees, which speaks volumes about their management. Boxed lunches and dinners are handed out often because they don't have enough staff to maintain the dinning hall. My Dad liked the receptionist they had, he got use to her, and spoke of her fondly, but she left, and now he feels a little lost. Its been a disappointing experience so far.

Copperfield Hill seems to be OK so far. The staff seems very pleasant and helpful. My father's room is not large, but it was clean when he moved in. They have a whole program of different activities. They also have a library, a puzzle room, and a media room.

These photos are not accurate of the Assisted Living community. These photos represent the independent living community, which offers "some" assisted living services... but should your loved one need to use state resources and need a higher level of care there is an adjacent building that looks nothing like this... the care staff are very nice but are understaffed and this creates in consistency in care.

Provider Response

Thank you for your review. Copperfield Hill is a community with a continuum of care providing services to each person with customized care plans based upon their financial and care needs. The family owned and managed community has been actively working on completing a remodeling project across the entire community. We are happy to hear the staff has been caring in their care to your friend or relative. We strive to provide a genuine and kind staff with a continued emphasis on consistency. Please contact the Assistant Manager or Executive Director to share your concerns so they can be addressed for your loved one.

I picked Copperfield Assisted Living for my husband. It's close by and looks nice; my daughter and I like it. The room is fine, like a little apartment with a kitchenette. There are two rooms for two men who will be in separate rooms but share a bath. He's moving there soon.

Copperfield Hill was very friendly and clean, and everything was really nice and good. The only thing that bothers me was when we were eating, I don’t know if something was wrong with the pans from the fryers as it smelled like they needed to have their fryers cleaned. Otherwise, it was fine. They had things go on for them all the time, and they would take them to different places. There was a room that was like open in the afternoon; it looked like a little bar, and you could bring in a beer. They could play cards in the afternoon, bring bands in, and a whole calendar of different things. If you are a Veteran, they would pay for the move and pick you up; I thought that was very nice.

My mom lives at Copperfield Hill, Independent living and she enjoys living there. You will not be bored at Copperfield Hill as they have activities every day, from card games to exercises. They have a shuttle bus that can take the tenants to outings such as restaurants, church, banks and grocery stores . My mom lives in a one bedroom apartment which is a nice size and it has a cute kitchen with many cupboards and it also has big closets. My mom is content and happy at Copperfield Hill.

We visited Copperfield and liked it. The problem that my mom has is she has to use a walker. She liked the facility, but she has a bad back; I explained to her also that and they have longer halls. She really liked it except the carpeting. If I am of that age, I would like to go there.

I thought Copperfield Hill Senior Living was a lovely place. They had a lot of very interesting events and a beautiful atrium. I liked the two-bedroom apartment that was really close to the atrium. It was large, bright, and sunny. The woman who gave me the tour was a very nice person. One building was assisted living and another building was independent. You can add services as needed, and I thought that was very nice because you wouldn't have to move your loved ones from independent into assisted since they could get all of the services they needed. They were very flexible, and you don't have to buy an entire package.

Provider Response

It is wonderful to hear your positive experience while you had a visit at Copperfield Hill. Our award winning atrium is a vital part to our community. The light and space provides the welcoming of socialization on each floor. Our residents have the ability to customize their cares to provide the flexibility you desire. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Mom and Dad are both at Copperfield Hill. The staff has been very good so far. It looks nice and clean. They're remodelling several floors. There isn't a pool, but they have a card room, visiting musicians, and good food, which I'd rate pretty high.

Thank you for your kind words on Copperfield Hill. As a staff we take great pride in our care for the residents and the home they live in. Copperfield Hill is celebrating 30 years of being family owned and operated. This high dedication from the owners is extended to provide a community of "family".

I love Copperfield Hill. It was very, very nice and under the category of affordable senior living. I liked that each unit had a special, walk-in bathtub. The community was very nice in terms of cleanliness and activities for the older seniors that live there. I would have enjoyed that very much if I were to move there.

I like Copperfield Hill better because of its location, its involvement in the city of Robbinsdale, and the integration of independent living, assisted living, and all the other units in one area. I appreciate that it is in walking distance to a lake, nice walking trails, and downtown Robbinsdale. They have a lot of activities, but they did not have a pool. They had buses that will take the residents to different places. The one-bedroom apartment was spacious.

We liked the amenities at Copperfield Hill and the way things operated, but we felt it was not the right fit for our family. The staff was really helpful, showed us everything, answered all of our questions, and gave us all the information that we needed to know. The rooms were really nice. It was one of the places where you can have everything you possibly need for someone to have a comfortable stay. They showed us a calendar of all the different things that they do, all of the places they go, and the on-site activities, which were all very nice. It was actually fancier than what we were looking for. It had everything we wanted, but it was just a little bit too costly.

We have my mother at Cooperfield Hill. The place is really nice. They have a memory care facility that has a lot of activities and stuff. You can come and go visiting at any time. It is suitable for us and actually, it is about four miles from our house, so it is really close. She is in a room that is just remodeled, so it is very nice. They have different things like bingo and bible studies. She seems to like the food, and they have plenty of it. A hospital, a park, a little shopping mall are close by, a couple of restaurants, and a post office. The people that give the assistance are nice and friendly. She gets along with them well, and she is satisfied with them.

My dad has been at Copperfield Hill for about a month now, and so far, it seems really good. They seemed to be meeting his needs OK. He has a little more space here than he had at the other facility, so that is nice. My dad has a little sitting room with a small kitchen. There is a single bedroom and a bathroom. They do have a lot of activities, although my father isn’t an activity kind of person. He is blind, and he uses a walker. He walks several miles a day. They have sort of a walkway that goes between the two buildings on his floor; it's kind of a skywalk, and he walks there multiple times a day so that works out well for him. There is also an outside that he is still learning his way around because he doesn’t see very well. He seems to be fine with people. He hasn’t said anything. I was able to eat there, and their food is good.

I found CopperField Hills Assisted Living to be very comfortable. I found the staff to be outstanding. Their program seemed to fit my lifestyle, and I was anxious to be moving there. The rooms were very clean and considerably larger than others that I had seen. They had good amenities there. I had a couple of friends there so I wouldn't be a stranger when I go there. They just seemed to know answers before I asked questions. They were very good. They had all sorts of activities. They had games, and they had metro mobile that came out and took you shopping when you wanted to go. They brought in speakers. I was on a special diet and the dietician was aware of that so I would be taken care of there. Visitors from my family could come anytime they wanted to. I actually had lunch there with a friend of mine, and the food was really good. The dining area had separate tables that seat four. There were a couple of tables that seat eight if you wanted to go to a community gathering. There was a beautiful fireplace in the dining room. They had a library, which was very nice for some of us. I just found it to be very nice and very clean. People went around all the time if you wanted to refresh you water or your coffee, which was great. They also had a cocktail hour, which was very nice.

I was pretty impressed with my experience at this facility. When I was given a tour, I had one person come meet with me personally and walk me throughout the entire facility, show me everything about the facility, and answered any questions I had. The food and dining experience they offered there seemed really tasteful and worth the money they paid for it. On top of that, they had a large variety of activities and activity rooms offered to the people who stayed there. The customers seemed very interested in everything they were offering and seemed to take advantage of all the activities provided. As far as the staff, everyone I met there seemed very friendly and none of them seemed as if they were bored or uninterested in being there for work.
