The Heathers Seaside Cottage Pierce

The Heather's Sr. Care is a wonderful place for permanent residence or respite care for thier providers, which is what we are using it for currently. They always have a bed available for my mother who stays there generally once a month for a couple of nights.

The Heathers Seaside Cottage Pierce assisted living facility was one that we chose to visit while looking for a place for my cousin's mother. The grounds were spacious and well tended.

It seemed like a friendly place to live. It's very cozy, safe and secure. There is plenty of staff to take care of basic needs and cleaning, so everything is taken care of.

The activities ranged from board games, to discussions, private reading and watching film and TV - some people were also using computers. All of the areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too.

The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people, from those who are not ambulatory - to people who have memory issues.

The dining areas have many options. From more intimate to communal dining, residents can choose whatever they like - in addition to hosting guests in their own spaces. The food choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks - offered continually.

All of the indoor areas were all clean and bright. There is plenty of sunlight so that they do not need to use lighting when it is sunny outside. This is true for many of the dwelling spaces, as well.

The activities they plan regularly include everything from visiting local restaurant favorites, the public library and movies - to day trips to nearby areas. They have planned exercise classes - but also offer residents to work out any time they wish. We liked that they encourage exercise - a people with early dementia can be forgetful.

This is one of the better facilities we've seen in the region and would recommend that others take a look as well.

This is a wonderful community facility in an upscale neighborhood for those with short term or long term needs. They cater to those suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s. The staff is specifically trained for these areas of need. The staff has to be some of the most compassionate staff I have met thus far during my search for my loved one. Staff that is bright well trained and who loves their work makes the choice to leave a loved one easy. This place is an A++++ facility that is beautifully decorated. The grounds are well groomed and they are near the Ocean. They are a locked facility so rest assured they will keep your loved one safe and from harm’s way. The food looked amazing and the dining room was beautiful. This is a very cozy environment meant to give the residents a sense of home. If you need a place for your loved one who suffers from Dementia or Alzheimer’s this is the place for you. They are privately owned and accept private pay and some other long term plans may be considered. I would want my loved one cared for in this facility. It is an amazing place.

The last caregiving facility that I visited in Costa Mesa was this one. I was amazed by the "cool" yet upper-class atmosphere that this place had. I would compare it to a beach hostel for the elderly.

The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly, and even had someone take my bag to the client's room for me. The food smelled like fancy dining - not like "typical nursing home food."

Everyone there, including the clients, seemed very laid back and looked to enjoy the place that they were staying / working in - which a positive atmosphere definitely makes up for any other problem that you could have in a facility like this.

The only problem that I did have was finding the facility. Other than that, it was great. My client thought the same, too - which is the important part.
