I visited this facility

The facilities at Brookdale Clarksville looked like they were all right. The staff was fine. They were friendly and everything. They had a small courtyard. They had a special type of bath or something like that. The bedroom was kind of small, but they have a really big facility there and it was clean. Publix was just up the street, and Brookdale had its own pharmacy.

Everybody at Brookdale Clarksville was nice. The rooms were clean. Everything was good. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. They were playing bingo while I was there. They also have a spa, a courtyard, a beauty and barbershop, and a little room to watch TV.

I visited this facility

We toured Brookdale Clarksville. They had a nice space, and the staff was really nice and friendly. The residents looked pretty happy. As a first-time person involving myself in doing a tour and stuff, the spaces were nice, and the rooms were decent and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have only a few openings. They usually have permanent residents, and they've been pretty well full for the last three months. It's completely memory care place for people very committed to Alzheimers. The companion suites were decent-sized. Obviously for memory care they don't have any microwaves or anything. As far as their little kitchenette area goes, it's just like a dorm-sized refrigerator, some counter space, and some cabinet space. You have to share a closet space. Everything was clean. They have a lot of activities. They have ice cream socials and movie nights. They have a lot of music people that come in there and do like live music and stuff. They have game stuff, too. They have a little like courtyard area where they can go outside. They have gardening there, too. They don't do respite care now because there's so many more people that are looking for a full-time residency, but they have two openings. The studio apartment was pretty spacious for them, but the shower area where they have their private bathrooms was huge. Then they have this big old spa bathtub for those that have difficulty getting in; they can put them in there. They have 24-hour medical care, so the nurses are there. My dad was talking about not feeling well and the nurse who just happened to be there took his vitals. It's a lot larger area, but everybody seemed happy. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. The place was clean, nice, and orderly.

I visited this facility

I toured Brookdale Clarksville memory care yesterday. The place had a very warm feel, and the staff was very professional and very helpful. It was very well-kept and very nice. The dining area looked very clean and well-kept. During my visit, they had the residents in a common area watching TV and they had several activities for them to do. They had card games and puzzles. They also had little interactive things laying around like the men had some tools and things they could manipulate while the ladies had some stuff like household items that they could touch and feel.

I toured Brookdale Clarksville. The people were really nice. The facility looked like it was updated, and it looked like they care. They were really nice. They were up-to-date, and they told me everything I want to know. The staff was really good. The upkeep was very good. I saw nothing out of place. It looked like a nice place to live. It was accessible and easy to get to.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We moved my mom into Brookdale Clarksville, and we've been very satisfied with everything. They have been very attentive to my mom, and they have communicated well with us. I don't have any complaints. The room is nice too. They have group activities every day. They have a schedule, and they have a person that's in charge of activities there. Unfortunately, my mom does not want to participate in a lot of things. If people want to participate, they can have hands on activities for them. They have people that come in and do music. They have an activity schedule every day, but like I said, my mom is not one that really wants to participate. The dining area is nice, and the food seems fine. My mom is not eating well right now, but that's not because of the food. This is because she's choosing not to eat; probably partly because of her dementia, and she's 90. My mother does not participate in activities, but every day there's a schedule posted of what's going to happen and at what time. They have something planned every day. We can't go in the dining room and eat with her, but sometimes we're allowed to bring in food if she wants something special. They have a special dining room; where if your family brings in food, you can go and eat.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Clarksville is really good and just amazing. The facility looks like a resort. Put anything you can imagine to entertain the residents, and they pretty much have it. I was there at mealtime, and it smelled so heavenly that I wanted to eat it. I liked how they were set up for lower function and higher-functioning dementia patients. I loved that. They also have a large courtyard that they can go in and out as they please, and I thought that was really good. They looked like they had plenty of staff and I liked how happy and satisfied the residents were when I looked into their faces. They looked like they were in a club when I came in. They spoke to me and were really happy to see me. I wanted to put my dad there, it's just that it's too far. The room was so nice there too. The lady, Marie, was like a family friend because she helped and walked me through all of these, and I recommend her to anybody. I feel terrible not putting him there, because she's helped me so much.

Brookdale Clarksville was super nice. The lady who attended to me was extremely nice. However, the place was kind of dark, and there were not a lot of activities. They had a movie room and an activities room, but I didn't remember seeing a lot of the residents. The place itself was pretty nice, but it was kind of dark.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Brookdale Clarksville was not what they made it to look like. It's a nice-looking facility. The staff was good, but the services were unacceptable. They weren't doing proper checks on my dad when they told me that they would. The hygiene and cleanliness were poor, and the food was horrible. They should stay true to their word as far as what services they would provide and can do better cleaning. They had singing and playing trivia questions for activities.

The staff at Brookdale Clarksville is good. Their dining room is pretty big and nice. They do things like outings, they do memory care games on big screens where people can answer questions, and they do all kinds of stuff like that. Their facilities are pretty good. The cost is a little high, but I guess that's to be expected.

Brookdale Clarksville was Mom’s #1 choice. The cost was broken down by amount of aid that the person uses, and they cannot give you that cost factor until they do a complete interview. The other thing was they would not allow us to paint the room and charge a whole lot more for a certain number of drugs and administration. If you took it all under consideration, the cost was going to be a lot more. As far as the facility itself, my mother really likes it because it is classy. She is a very classy person, and that was her preference. If you are going in there as an independent living, then this should be your first choice. If you were going in as an assisted living, then you have to weigh the costs.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Clarksville community was more geared for patients that had Alzheimer's. They were there when I needed them, but my dad wasn't really at that stage yet. The staff in Sterling House was helpful. They were very good, kind, and terrific in showing me around. The rooms were all clean, but it wasn't just the facility my dad needed. I knew that they had a lot of activities there. They also had a fine security, which was important for memory care units.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

They were very nice, for the most part, but seemed always to be on edge and didn't allow any of the people to interact with each other. I understand their worry that they would harm each other but the people there were so sad. When I came to visit, I ended up actually visiting with more people then just my relative because it looked like they hadn't gotten a visitor or seen a friendly face except those of the doctors.

Upon arriving at the Sterling House, I was greeted by friendly staff. The atmosphere was welcoming and it felt very much like walking into a good friend's house. The Facility is on the smaller side, only room for about 100 people but the clients get intimate and personalized assistance. At the Sterling House, residents can socialize and go out for activities in the community. Staff also help create and specialize plans tailored for the residents specific needs. Each resident gets their own room in an apartment like setting. Staff are on duty 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to help with activities of daily living if need be. The Sterling House is a great place to call home.
