I am living in Bonaventure of Castle Rock. They have a terrible time building a management team. In the length of time I've been here we've had six executive directors. So without any stable leadership, things just don't work very well. My apartment is very nice. It's a two-bedroom apartment with two baths. It's where I moved in when my wife was still alive. The view out the windows is OK. It's warm. The cleaning crew is doing a great job, but there are times during the length of time we've been here when we'd go two months without anyone doing any cleaning. I think it's getting better. Like all of these places, the food leaves a little bit to be desired, but I've actually had more variety than I probably ever have in my life. They've finally got somebody supervising the kitchen who seems to know what she's doing, so things have gotten better there as well. They have movies twice a day and some other activities. There are some people here who are really good and have been through all the turmoil. But I'm tired of hearing executive directors say, "We're going to get better. You've got to trust me. This is going to change." And then we see him walk out in three months or less.

Bonaventure of Castle Rock was like a five-star hotel. It was absolutely hands down, flipping gorgeous. It was beautiful. It was really new, just the style of the building and the amenities. The staff during the tour was a sweetie pie, very informative, funny, and answered any and all questions. You couldn't have asked for a better tour person. I hate that it was so expensive, but it was absolutely beautiful and there was no denying that. We received a menu and it looked beyond adequate, but we didn't taste anything. The dining areas were like a hotel dining room or a nice restaurant dining room. They're very, very nice. There's a whole gamut of stuff. They provided all sorts of different activities, onsite as well as offsite.

We did a tour of Bonaventure of Castle Rock. They were going to do a dual setup for my dad, which was very kind. It was one of the reasons I appreciated them so much. They really worked with us to find a way to meet our needs. They had good options for apartment sizes, different room numbers, and different bath numbers. You could have laundry or not, so they had a lot of options. It was very clean and well run, as far as I could see. The admissions office was very accommodating, and that's the only people I talked to. I think it's a wonderful place. I wish it would have worked out. We liked the location because it was near where my parents already lived. They would be able to do all the things that they were currently doing. The halls and common areas were clean. They were friendly. I know they have transportation. It was one thing we were looking at. It is up to ten miles, which is nice to go to doctor's appointments. They're pet friendly and have a nice community outdoor and indoor area.

I toured Bonaventure of Castle Rock and I liked that one. They're open. They didn't have a full memory care unit. They had the open courtyard and all that. I am paying out of pocket for this, and I had to look at the fiscal responsibilities of my father. He has a finite bank account, but if I had unlimited income, I would have put him there easily. Unfortunately, it was about $3,000 more a month than I could handle. They had two or three girls that went with me. They were walking around and answering questions. They were phenomenal. They answered all my questions. Unfortunately, the location that Pop was at sent him to the hospital and said he couldn't come back. So, I had to scramble within five days to find another location. The food is similar to what was offered at other locations. It looks good and is awesome. The activities in the memory care, as well as the retirement village, are awesome. They've got activities every day. It's a beautiful location and it looked like it's a brand-new facility. It's just a nice facility. They have an outdoor courtyard for both memory care, which is enclosed as well as for retirement. They have a beautiful courtyard.

The respite care experience we had in Bonaventure of Castle Rock assisted living was good. I liked how efficient they were and my dad was treated very well there. We just decided that, with the holidays coming up, we want to keep him around for the moment. I have also taken my father to respite care, two years prior, and it wasn't nearly as good as this facility. They were very clean, they had a lot of amenities, and his room was very clean. Not to mention that it was very easy to facilitate anything he needed. I want to give them 10/10 across the board for everything that they were able to provide. The staff was very helpful. There was a time where I called in, my father stayed there for about a month and one of the days that he stayed there, he mentioned that the room was a little cold. He didn't know how to work the thermostat and when he called the front desk, they immediately got on it like it wasn't a problem and there without any fuss. They were just like, "Oh, okay, great. We'll send somebody right now." It was very, very quickly responded to.

Bonaventure of Castle Rock is where my mom is staying. The staff is very nice and helpful. They help me understand a lot of things about the whole concept of having my mother in there, and they've worked with us on several different small problems and had them corrected. My mom has a very good room. I guess we just got lucky because she's in a place that's very easy to get around in. I liked the food. She doesn't get around real well, but she goes to eat and she has some friends that she's met there. I don't think she's doing too much participation in the activities.

I went to the Bonaventure of Castle Rock. It seemed nice, everybody there was very nice, but it was probably limited in what I could do. Because of the COVID, they were looking at opening their dining room soon. Everybody has been eating in their room, but they just got everybody all vaccinated. They were going to do distancing and open their thing. They showed me a room that somebody had vacated, so it hadn't been cleaned yet, and I said something to 'em, and she said, "Oh, the carpet would be cleaned, everything would be taken care of before he would move in." I saw the dining room, it wasn't open, I saw their gathering room, they were very nice, but at that time things were still semi-closed.

Our visit to Bonaventure of Castle Rock was fine. It was very, very well run, and the people were nice. We had a former neighbor who is still there, too. It's a nice complex, the room was excellent, and it was a good facility. No one looked upset. The lady who we worked with was very good at what she did. They have carports and things that were good, but the biggest lack that I found there was storage, because we have a house full of stuff and need more storage.

This facility is only about 5 years old and is located in a pleasant location with easy access to everything the town has to offer. We have a nicely furnished apartment with a fantastic view and have laundry service right down the hall. Weekly maid service and transportation provided makes for care free living. There are 1, 2 and 3 meal per day plans to chose from. Varied entertainment programs and a steady selections of activities and field trips are available. Care levels range from independent living to Assisted care and Memory care. We find the staff extremely friendly, supportive and caring. Staff and fellow residents have created a family environment way beyond our expectations. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very attentive staff and were accepted into the community immediately. Very close friendships were formed within just a few weeks and we all look after each other like one big family.

Our one bedroom apartment gives the two of us as much comfort as the 3 bedroom house we moved fro. OK, the storage space is limited but we will be here for less than a ear while our new house is being built. The staff provides for our needs and desires more like we were family than clients and the entire relationship with them is that way. We could not ask for better. Activities range from simple in house get togethers to interesting field trips. NOBODY should be bored or feel alone. The whole atmosphere is open and welcoming. When it is time to move into our new house it will be just as hard to say good-bye to our neighbors and staff here as it was to leave our previous community of 59 years. Did I mention the food? We have no complaints. If you don't care for the default meal of the day there is a good choice of alternatives and if you must eat out there are good restaurants within walking distance. We find the meals tasty and well done with a nice variety. Happy hour before dinner three times a week makes for good camaraderie among the neighbors and a few adventures in shred memories.

My mother has been here for four months now in assisted care. I have found the staff to be very helpful and involved. The activities people are especially great in providing fun and engaging opportunities for the residents. I think the current management has done things to help fix any problems of the past so older reviews may be outdated now. I wanted to provide an updated response.

I liked Bonaventure Senior Living - Castle Rock very much. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well thoughtout. They had card games, ceramics, and music classes. The staff was attentive. The dining area reminded me of a 5-star restaurant. Overall, it's a very nice community.

Bonaventure Castle Rock is a nice facility. We'll be going to the brand-new building. The staff was very good and we have no problems with them. They have exercises, good outings, and good activities away from the building. For the services, the price is good in that respect. I'd recommend them if necessary.

The facility is great. The turnover in employees is horrible and they are always under staffed. Care level costs are very high and the promised care is not given. The independent living would be okay but do not consider this facility an option for Assisted or Memory Care. We are sorry we moved here. Activities are nonexistent and Jordan the activities director is very lethargic and seems disinterested. Not sure what she does. The good caregivers don’t seem to last long. So unfortunate. The company only wants a profit and should spend more on wages and hire more staff.

I moved Mom into the independent living of Bonaventure. It's a very nice, fairly new place. However, they're definitely understaffed, and that's a recurring problem since they opened. Her apartment is quite nice; there's a balcony, a large living area, full kitchen, bedroom, and a large bathroom. They have a lot of activities.

Bonaventure of Castle Rock has a very nice setting and very nice apartments. I saw a 1-bedroom that has a small balcony. However, they need to change the administrative issue from the very top down. The staff was nice, but you could tell there's a lot of stress. They had many changes in the administration and they had many changes in the cooking and in the chef. They just had problem after problem. Many people that we knew were trying to leave there. The food wasn't that great either.

Bonaventure of Castle Rock was very nice, and the staff was very good. The only reason I did not go there was because I would be farther from my kids. The rooms were big and nice.

Mom is doing well at Bonaventure of Castle Rock. It has a nice atmosphere, and her apartment is lovely. She is really enjoying it there because it is spacious and has a nice view. The food is not excellent but pretty good. I think it's a lovely place. It feels more like a hotel resort with a very homey feeling rather than a senior community. It has lovely decor, and the activities are well planned.

My father has been in Bonaventure of Castle Rock for two weeks now. The staff isn't organized. They keep losing help. When my dad moved in, the heat was broken and the thermostat was not working, but they did finally get it working. The place is clean. They have a lot of socials, but he hasn't gotten really involved in that. Some of the food are decent, some are not, and they are geared for older people.

One star is too many. My mom and dad have been here pretty much since it was opened 2-3 years ago. The ONLY reason they have stayed is because they like their apartment layout. In the three years there's been somewhere in the vicinity of 35 so-called chefs working in the kitchen. The few times I was there for lunch or dinner I was appalled at the quality of the food. Even something as simple has a toasted english muffin had to be sent back three times and still came back to the table just barely warm. I was there for the fourth of July party in 2014 and the silverware was actually stuck to the table we were supposed to eat at. When we got our soup they had no soup spoons for us to eat it with. After I went to the kitchen and pounded on the door to get somebody's attention they finally found us some clean tablespoons to use. Originally the facility was very clean but as time has gone by the house keeping has gone down drastically. In my opinion I don't believe they're paying enough to keep good help and the help they do have is poorly trained.. The turnover rate is astronomical as near as I can tell. At one time their company van was unusable for several weeks because corporate wasn't sending funds for new tires. When the time comes for my folks to go into assisted living I will do everything in my power to convince them to go somewhere else. I would venture to guess that you will never find the elders of the people that run this place living here. In my opinion they should be ashamed of themselves.

My father-in-law is at Bonaventure of Castle Rock. The facility is very updated and new. The staff members are OK. They seem to be very helpful and knowledgeable. They do have activities. They go on bus tours to different places. They have bingo, cards, and Wii bowling. However, they need to improve on training their staff.

Bonaventure is a very clean, nice place, and the apartments are very nice. I picked this one for my friend because the place was welcoming, the people were happy, the older community was happy, the people that were helping them out looked happy, the space was spacious, and it didn't feel like an assisted living or a nursing home; it felt more like a hotel, it was very nice, and the most important thing was that everybody looked happy and content to be there. As a matter of fact, I am placing another elderly friend there too. It is really a wonderful group of people that really like the elderly, and the people are happy and well cared for. It is spacious, and it doesn't seem confined. In some years, I hope I have the resources to also go to Bonaventure. My friend is hard of hearing, and she is 96, so she goes to her lunches and dinner, and she likes to keep all by herself, but the opportunity to do a variety of things is there -- from cultural things to games to physical therapy to whatever -- so I cannot complain. I don't have one complain yet, and she has been there for two months. They take care of everything -- they have doctors; they have everything -- so it's complete. Out of the five that I visited, this was the best.

Mom used to be at Bonaventure of Castle Rock. It's a really nice place, and it's almost brand new. She had a really nice room, and the cost wasn’t really that bad. My mom is not really a social person, but I did notice that they have happy hour. They have a whole bunch of stuff like cards and games. They have people also coming in for entertainment.

If you care about your loved one, go somewhere else. Beyond a very nice building the place is a wreck. Multiple food safety violations, chefs stay less than TWO months on average, most menu items are poorly prepared or never available. Turn-over of employees is rampant we could go on and on. This July, 2014 top management made more promises about food quality and chef again left after two weeks. Top mgt refuses to meet with groups of concerned families.

My mother lives here and I would not recommend this facility. She complains about the food, but more importantly, they have made mistakes regarding her care that I am uncomfortable with. They need better processes; things seem chaotic.

I lived here long enough to grow tired of the same poor food quality day in and day out. They would promise change but it was all lip service. There was one manager who was very good but spoke his mind and was summarily fired by Bonaventure. If the employees cannot be "bonaventurized" they are fired. I spoke with the chef who confided in me that they are not allowed to order the good quality food - rather they are forced to order the chewy leftovers that no reputable restaurant would serve. If food is important, stay far far away

Bonaventure is a beautiful facility. The room is fine. The staff is very good. However, we are not really happy here, and I will not recommend it. They should improve on the food.

This facility is in trouble. Beautiful building but they cannot keep a manager or Chef for long.The food is not very good. Housekeeping is terrible. Never judge a book by it's cover.
