Elmcroft of Berwick is located in a residential area nestled along the Susquehanna River. The area is known for our small farming community and factories. We are the "Home of the Bulldawgs," our local high school football program that is known nationwide. Berwick is also the original home of the American Car & Foundry Company (AC&F) and the Wise Potato Chips factory. The downtown area hosts street festivals, the Run for the Diamonds race every Thanksgiving Day, and the Jaycee's Christmas Boulevard. Elmcroft of Berwick is a friendly neighborhood community that provides care for residents with all the comforts of home.
Accommodations and Services
Elmcroft of Berwick is a senior living community offering accommodations for those who may require assistance in their daily living activities. It is staffed 24 hours a day with trained healthcare personnel and offers as much or as little care as a resident may want or need. In addition, Elmcroft of Berwick has a licensed Health Care Director on call 24 hours a day.
Elmcroft of Berwick features a full sprinkler system and each apartment is equipped with an emergency call system that may be used whenever the need arises. In addition, all exterior doors may be locked so that a secure environment can be maintained.
Each apartment includes all meals and basic utilities as part of the monthly fee. Also, residents enjoy daily activities, private dining room for family and guests, library and sitting areas, bistro and billiard activity room, housekeeping services and many other amenities. Other services include a beauty/barber shop for a nominal fee.
The emphasis on activities is a main thrust of the service offerings. Social interaction is a vital part of overall good health and Elmcroft of Berwick is committed to offering residents a full range of social, recreational and spiritual activities from which to choose. Scheduled transportation on the community van allows all residents to take advantage of travel activities.

I visited this facility
After looking around at other places with my parents for a place for my grandmother to stay, I was shocked at some of the other locations in the area: dirty, boring and no one seemed to care. I was so grateful when my family chose Elmcroft of Berwick. Granny was always independent but just couldn't take care of herself any longer and it was beginning to be tough on my parents. My grandmother had her own personal apartment that was well appointed and far exceeded anything any of the other places had. She was able to be cared for without making her feel like she couldn't take care of herself. What I think my grandmother appreciated most was the fact that this was a place where she made friends. She was always doing something at Elmcroft. It made all the difference to us that she was able to have a social life as opposed to living in a hospital room with poor care.
I am a friend or relative of a resident
My aunt was having difficulty living alone after her husband passed away. The family made a group decision to put her into a nursing home. To make sure she got the best care, we all, personally looked at every nursing home in the area. Elmcroft of Berwick was a cut above the rest, enough for us to put her there, even though there is some distance between us and her. We visit often, the workers are very nice, and seem to actually enjoy taking care of the residents. I have put much time into going to other nursing homes for community service, and I can safely say that Elmcroft is by far the best of the bunch. One thing that I noticed, is that my aunt really didn't mind being in a nursing home, she even seemed to enjoy it, the residents were extremely friendly, and within the month she has been there, she has met everybody. It brings my family great comfort knowing that she is in good hands.
