We looked at Valley Crest Memory Care. We spoke to a woman named Kimberly, and she was very nice and very patient. We arrived a little after 4:30 and we began to have a sit down with her about the place. And at the time on that day, there was an episode with my dad where he kind of slipped away from my sister, who he's staying with, in Las Vegas, and she couldn't find him. Kimberly was on the phone and we were trying to get Las Vegas North PD to help with the search for him. And so, we wound up being there until around 8:00 in the evening. Kimberly had two cell phones, I had a cell phone, my wife had a cell phone, and we were burning up every text and line that we could do to find my dad. Kimberly had already been there the whole day, but she stayed there to help us with the situation that we didn't know how to deal with. Kimberly seemed like she was just above and beyond what needed to be done and very caring, very supportive, and very informative. They had shared rooms and they had individual rooms. She showed us through the place a little bit of the residence there and a little walk around the garden outside. The only thing about the place that I questioned was on the walk around outside. There was a sidewalk and there was a seam in the sidewalk where one side was higher than the other, about a half-inch or three-quarters of an inch. I brought that to their attention that this is a trip hazard, but they said that they could try to address it. The people were polite. We looked at a room and they were told us that we could furnish it with whatever we had. They all had Internet access. They could have their own cell phone or laptop or TV, laundry was furnished and all. They also offered respite care. If you don't need full-time care permanently, but you need to have someone taken care of for a week, they'll do that. So, I thought that was interesting.

Valley Crest Memory Care was nice and clean. As soon as I walked in it felt like home. They have three wings for different levels. Whatever level the patient is at, they're with people who are just the same as them, not people who are worse or better. They have separate activities for different levels. The staff members were very nice.

We chose Valley Crest Memory Care for my ex-husband because it has a nice environment and friendly staff. They pass each resident a calendar of all the activities every day, but they also go around to remind them when activities are starting. So, they're very helpful in that way. They have a courtyard and a salon. As far as the cost, it was the best price we could find.

Valley Crest Memory Care is clean. It's updated inside. It's got a good feeling about it. People are friendly. They call their residents by name. It smells good. I also heard good things from other people, too. I know this is a for-profit place, but it doesn't feel like that. It feels like it's about the family and the residents. The staff seemed really nice. I haven't sampled a meal, but it smelled good. I saw the menu, too.

Valley Crest Memory Care was very bright and very inviting. I noticed their locks on the doors and their permission to be let in and out of the building was quite efficient for a place that involves memory care guests. The person who assisted me was incredibly informative. She answered all my questions without pause. She was professional and very sympathetic to my plight of bringing my grandfather down to Apple Valley. We went into their dining area momentarily, and we didn't get to try any of the food, but we received assurances that the food was nutritious, balanced, and well-prepared for elderly adults who had issues with swallowing, which is what my grandfather had. The place was incredibly clean, and it smelled clean and that's very important, especially in a facility that cares for the elderly.

Mom is at Valley Crest Memory Care. They keep the place clean, and it looks good every time I'm there. Most of the people that work there seem to be very nice, but they don't seem to have enough people working there. Mom is in a shared room with enough room for two single beds. Each of them has an armoire and they each have a night stand. I've tried to get a list of the activities that they have, but they can't seem to send me that. Or when I'm there, they can't seem to provide it. They don't seem to understand billing, and they send bills that don't make any sense to me. If I call and want to talk to somebody about it, they say they will call me back, and they never do.
