I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The rooms are very small. Mostly the staff is friendly but a lot of recent changes. Right now there are not a lot of activities for residents. Amenities, not many. Kitchen and dining room has been closed off to residents since April, 2019 due to remodel which has not started as of last week. Would not recommend.

I visited this facility

What I didn’t like about Casa de Rosa was they only had 1 room open, and it was too small. If I took it, there would be 3 people sharing the same bath -- something like 3 little rooms around a single bathroom -- and I really want a private room with a private bath. They were very pleasant and happy to see me. It was a pretty place and looked very nice. They had like a porch around it, and there were several people just sitting there. They didn’t look happy.

This has been a terrible experience for our parent. The staff is not friendly, the people who own the place are rude and difficult to deal with. The food is like an old 1960s institution. Don't take your loved ones to Casa Del Rosa.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We had mom at Casa De Rosa, and it's perfect; we love it! She's got more privacy because she has her own room, and she still gets a lot of excellent care. They monitor her and check in on her frequently. The facility is very clean, and I never had any problem with odor which is very good. We are very, very pleased with it. She is getting physical therapy, and they are goal oriented to try to get her move on her own without relying solely on the wheelchair. All questions that we had, they were willing to answer.

I visited this facility

Casa de Rosa Assisted Living was a nice blend of a homey atmosphere with all of the procedures, protocol and safety that a corporation provides. It was nice and warm and has a family feel, and yet it has all the safety and protocols that a corporation would provide. It has lots of porches, lots of acreage, and beautiful, exquisite grounds. Its waterfalls, ponds, and trees were immaculately clean. I talked to all the residents and they were all very happy. Plus, they have animals on site. You can go and feed the chickens, the goats, and the baby pigs. People were not in their rooms, but were outside in the mini-community area watching TV and things. On the downside, this is a former abbey. The rooms were extremely small, mostly one room units, no efficiencies, and just one room with a shared bathroom. I was also extremely impressed with their bookkeeping. Every person's notebook and folder has the patient's picture on it. They keep notes on how much they eat and sleep every day. They have a higher staff to patient ratio. They look at how much food is on their plate at the end of each meal and they will log that. Everything is coded -- not only the patient's number and all that -- but with their picture to act as a double safety mechanism. I was very impressed with their paperwork. Plus, there were cameras everywhere: in all the hallways, the community areas, and the outdoor walkways. If my mother falls, they will know instantly. She needs help showering, dressing, and with small things now. They shower everyone there and they have a shower person who does nothing but shower everyone all day. So, you have to agree to be showered by somebody. For someone who doesn't really need that level of care, then maybe this isn't what they need; for my mother, this is exactly what she needs. She needs someone to really watch her to make sure she doesn't fall, someone to see how much she is eating, someone to make sure she is putting toothpaste on the right end of the toothbrush, and someone to make sure that if she is incontinent, she changes her pants. It is going to be a perfect fit for her. It is warm and loving, and a lot of people are watching her.
