I visited this facility

We went to Morada Albuquerque and toured it. What was available at the time was not what we wanted for my friend as far as the room, but otherwise, it looked like it was laid out pretty decently. It was clean, but we just didn't want her on the second floor because she's got a pet and she needs to be able to take that pet outdoors at times and that's a little bit more than what we felt that she could handle. The lady who toured me was very helpful and answered all the questions. That was nice. They had a gym and a salon, too.

They have a serious roach problem. My friend who lives there lost her key to the front door and asked the head woman 5 times for a new one. It took two months to get it. They lock the front door at 5:00 PM everyday so my friend would have to wait in the cold for someone to come let her in. Not what you would expect for the almost $4,000 rent they charge. The house keeping service is minimal.

Morada Albuquerque had a continuum of care. They had everything right there available. It was fabulous. It was in my price range. They were clean. The people that we met with were very friendly. The rooms were spacious. The food selection looked good. The staff was friendly. The people who were there looked happy. It was farther from my house than the other places, so the proximity to me was not as good. The person I met with, Erica, was very caring. It was a nice facility with a lot of things, a library, and a little workout room. They had an activity area. They had all kinds of things going on. The room had a microwave. There were lots of windows, so there was a lot of natural light. It had its private bathroom and things like that. It had a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator. Everybody was friendly to the residents and seemed very helpful and knew them by name. They had transportation. They had little field trips also. They watch movies and have popcorn.

Morada Albuquerque was pretty far from the house where I live, but it was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The tour and everything were just beautiful. It was in wonderful shape and it looks like it'd be fairly easy for people to get around as well, like you will not get lost quite as easily. There was a nice big garden area where they could go out and sit, too. The lady who gave the tour was very thorough. Everything was so clean and nice.

I think Morada Albuquerque is a very nice place for my husband. It's working out well for him. Everybody there is so kind, caring and helpful. The apartment's size and layout are just right for him. It gives him enough room to do what he needs to, but he's not overwhelmed with so much stuff. My husband likes to go out and meet people and have meals. Their meals are extremely good. They're well-organized. It's such a nice atmosphere for him to go in and feel like he's eating in a restaurant. The activities are good. My husband likes chair yoga and movies. He goes to a lot of activities, and he likes all of them. They have field trips and they also offer transportation if somebody needs to go to doctor's appointments or something. Sometimes it's just a ride around the city, but sometimes they go out to eat in a restaurant or something, so it's nice. The facility is very, very clean. It's got really good signage for the people, so it is easier for them to get around.

My mom has moved into Morada Albuquerque. It's beautiful. So far, so good. The staff is nice. The med tech was kind of rude but other than that, everybody was nice. They have good things to eat. There are lots of activities. I would recommend it. The room has a refrigerator and a sink, but there's no cooking. They supply the meals. You can have your own food and there's a microwave. I haven't tried their food, but my aunt has, and she said it's very good. For activities, they do exercises, they have outings, they have movies, and they have ice cream socials.

My mom will move into Morada Albuquerque. It was clean and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are updated and clean. It smells good. Not every place I went to smells good. Some of them were pretty gross. The dining area was comfortable, spacious. They have a lot of activities. They have happy hours, and they have church services. They have a beauty salon and craft activities. They also have a shuttle service to drive residents to activities and doctors' appointments. That was one of the deciding factors.

I visited this facility

I toured Morada Albuquerque. It's big with a lot of walking within the facility for an elderly person so you need to be pretty mobile to get around. They have escort services to help you get around so you don't get lost. But it was nice, bright, and sunny. They had a lot of open courtyards within the facility. It's extremely convenient for me. It's less than a quarter of a mile away and it's down the street, that's why it appeals to me. The marketing person was very nice and very informative. She was able to explain a lot of information to me. I wasn't able to sit down and ask questions after the tour because she had another appointment, but she was very good, and she showed me everything. They have three options for rooms. The base price is based on those three options, and then they have a point system of additional services required that are added to that cost, so you can figure out how much the cost is. They have two studios and one-bedroom floorplans available, which is good. They have pretty much the same amenities as all assisted living. They had an activities calendar and activities going on. They have a movie room, they have three meals a day, and they have a community dining area. They have a lot going on. It was a busy place. There were a lot of people milling around and stuff.

My mom moved into Morada Albuquerque. The best thing about it is the facility, and the least is the lack of communication between the skilled nursing facility and the assisted living facility. They have a town square that has a movie theater, an ice cream social, a reading library, and a hair salon. The staff was courteous. My mom has a room facing a courtyard. It's small, but the air conditioner works well. I like the shower because it has a bench seat in it. The paperwork that they had to fill out for the doctor was in the wrong packet, so for the past two weeks my mom hasn't been able to see the doctor because they sent the wrong packet, so we had to refill that out. My mom is younger, so I think they think she's of sound mind. I'm not sure that they took the right steps to ensure that she was getting all the care that she needed, and a couple of things have slipped through the cracks.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents have been at Morada Albuquerque for over a month now, and they did everything to accommodate us but there's several things now that are not so good. They did everything possible for food and it's good. It took them several weeks to get the schedule down as far as administering medications. They had a hard time getting those scheduled. We talked to them and they hadn't given certain medications to my mom for several days. My mom had to recently go to a hospital for 4 days and there were some things that were stolen from her room. They're trying to figure out how to handle that now. They didn't do a very good job in encouraging her to make sure she got up and around and be a part of a community. And so, mom has deteriorated really bad. It is just not as good as we thought it was going to be. It's like they were short handed because things are not getting done. We've eaten there several times and the food was pretty good. The facility is great and they have everything you need. Everything was really nice. They had a nice atrium and a nice view. They have a lot of activities posted and I saw a lot of residents participating, but I don't know if they are doing enough to encourage everyone to participate.

Morada Albuquerque was nice. They did a lot of activities while I was there. They were all having a blast. The long halls would have been confusing for my mom. The director there, who took me on the tour, was wonderful. It is a humongous facility, which is fine for some people. Even the memory care facility is really large. The people there were nice. The residents seemed very engaged in activities. They were bringing in dinner when we were there, and it looked really good. Their rooms are bigger than any of the other facilities I've toured. They had outdoor spaces and gardens. It's all secured. The facility was clean. Everything was good, except for the layout.

I like Morada Albuquerque. The rooms were probably a little bit bigger than the other place, and I would have had to bring furniture and stuff like that. Their prices were just a few hundred dollars more a month. The price is a factor with my sister, she doesn't have a lot. They had a courtyard in the middle of the facility. The facility was kind of around the courtyard. They had a separate courtyard for memory care as opposed to just assisted living. They showed me both, but my sister is not a candidate for just assisted living, she's got to have memory care. The staff was just awesome as far as pointing things out and answering all our questions. The facility was very good. However, you need to bring everything like a TV. That wasn't a problem because we have furniture and a mini refrigerator and stuff like that for her, but it's such a hassle to get it in there.

We went to visit Morada Albuquerque, it seemed very nice. But there was a lady that was living there, she stopped us and said "Don't move here, they don't help you, they don't listen to you, and they don't do what you ask." So that kind of put me off. We have a dog and it would have been a lot of walking to take the dog out of the unit. The apartments were all right, except we could only get a king-size bed in the room but that would have been about it. We were looking at a 2-bedroom, it has a kitchenette which was fine, the refrigerator was really small. The dining area was nice, but it was a lot of walking from the unit, it's quite a distance. What I saw about the facility was well maintained. The man taking us on the tour was so nice.

When we toured Morada Albuquerque, one of the residents in the memory care was following us the whole time and nobody took her in hand, as far as leading her off or doing something with her. That kind of unnerved my friend. It also didn't smell clean. It's not like it smelled urine, but it seemed like they were trying to mask a smell. The facility was set up more traditionally as a nursing home kind of setting, but they had taichi classes setup, gardening, and a whole crowd of them in the activity room was watching TV when we got there. There were plenty of residents milling around. Rusty was the one who toured us around and he was such a positive person.

My wife was a past resident. I thought it was in a good place. The room she had was much bigger than the one she had now, but it cost more, and they did not have Medicare and Medicaid. It's an upscale place, I thought it was a good stay for her, and she actually improved enough to be able to take her out of memory care. The staff was friendly, helpful, and did whatever they could. The activities were fine, I wasn't happy with the food and preferred not to eat there, but she never complained, and gained weight there. It was expensive.

My father is in here. The rooms are very nice. They exercise twice a day every day, have music programs several times a week, brain games every morning, poker most days, movies twice a day, and lots of other activities. I've had multiple meals there and I would describe the menu as varied with good choices of fresh food. The staff gives excellent care. They've been very understanding, kind, and attentive. They have outings a lot, too.

I visited and did not care for it. I liked the lady who took me on a tour of the place. However, I would not go there because the rooms were too small, and I wanted a good-sized apartment or independent living quarter. I remembered seeing the room and seeing where they went for activities, but I did not know exactly what she said. The staff was very good. The place itself looked just fine. It was very clean, and it had a lovely courtyard. The place was very nice.

I liked it the best out of all the places I visited because of the attitude of the staff. Everybody seemed to be having a good time while the staff was interacting with the residents. If I'm ever going to use a senior home, I'll use this one. The place is older but had really nice outside areas for the residents. A lot of residents liked sitting outside, and it was secure enough that they couldn't get out.

It is fairly good. The rooms are comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. They also have memory care which is a good thing. They have lots of activities. They have a really nice gym. It was a very nice, small community, so the ratio between residents and the caregivers was pretty small. I was invited to a meal, but it was breakfast time and I'd already eaten. They said that I could always come back. The dining room was light and open, not dark and in a corner or anything like that. They served me chocolate chip cookies. I was impressed.

It was a great place and if I am able to get my mother into an assisted living place, this is probably the place I would choose. It was a good facility, and it was a thorough visit. They had almost everything that I could think of. They had a lot of different places for people to go; there were movies and things like that. They have the three regular meals a day, and then they have an option for people to get other meals whenever they need them. They take people to their doctors' appointments, and they also have people that visit.

One of the things we liked was that the independent can become assisted without moving to a different room. It was excellent. This is where I would recommend they go when my parents are ready. They are accommodating to the levels of care where it's different for the spouses. If they had different levels, they can still stay together without moving to a different room unless you need memory care, and even there, if one needs memory care and the other doesn't, there is an option for them to still live together and was a big plus. I liked the way that their activity rooms were set up and some of the activities that they had like an ice-cream parlor where people were sitting around playing games, and I also liked their any time dining and dining room options.

The facility meets our expectations. It doesn't seem to be different from what we expected at all. They have a one-bedroom, and they have a studio type. It is very nice and beautiful. It is just that it is in Albuquerque. It is the only thing that didn't work for us. We just opted for something closer to home. But it does have everything. It is a little bit more independent living though. It wouldn't really have worked well with my father in that respect either because he needs a bit more structure. The staff is great. It's just that we have to go with what works best for our situation.

I felt that it was very, very nice. However, I just felt that it was more of an adult community rather than an assisted living community. I just didn't see as many skilled staff helping residents as we did at other smaller facilities. Nevertheless, was a very, very beautiful place. As a matter of fact, I would like to go there when I get old. However, I just felt that this wasn't what my mother needed. It was very large and it had many rooms. There was more than one level. I just felt that I wanted something with a single level and something a little smaller. The dining area was beautiful. They gave you a menu to choose your own food. The day that we went, the only activity that we noticed were Bible classes. They also had a room that had a movie theater and an ice cream parlor. It was a very, very nice place.

They didn't have anything available for another week. I didn't like the location of it either. It's very close to all the interstates there. They were very accommodating. They showed me a room. It was the room that they show everybody, and she said they could probably move the furniture out, and maybe move him in there, but again it would take some time to do that. They were very friendly. I didn't see any residents when I was there. You don't walk in and see a bunch of people sitting right there in the lobby. They probably were out doing stuff. I wasn't really that impressed.

It is a very fine place to stay. I'm very glad I'm here. The staff are absolutely wonderful. They're very good. The food is excellent, too. We chose it because we had to work with what we could do with our money. The room is just enough. I only have a one-room place. I didn't get the two rooms. But it's totally sufficient. It is a very nice facility, and it was set up very nicely for my mother, and she was very happy about it. The rooms were very nice. I think my only complaint was that the accounting people lost my mother's check, and so I had to go in and cancel her banking account and re-open a new banking account, and they offered us a special deal when we first got her in there, and then the deal was not reflected on her first bill. The people in the dining hall and the housekeeping staff were very nice and very good.

It is very nice and it’s the only one mom would really love. They have a variety of activities available for the residents. They can grow plants outside and they have a courtyard for that. They can see movies in a kind of movie theatre. Their director of marketing was terrific. What I really like and what’s good for my mom was they had an open kitchen when it’s not meal time so she will have the opportunity to eat whenever she wants to.

It was a beautiful place. It was very clean. It had good food and the dining was gorgeous. One of their qualities that impressed me was that they had a crew that moved her in and we didn't have to pay extra for that. We just called and a truck came, took her stuffs and moved her in. That was really nice and big plus for that place. It had lots of activities choices and things to do. I really liked it. The rooms were nice. She was able to stay there only for a week and they allowed her to have her dogs there. She started out in a one-bedroom apartment because they didn't have a studio available and our goal was to place her in a studio, the smaller, the better. They only had one-bedroom, but they charged us for a studio price, which was nice and told us that if a studio became available we could move her in. We were going to move her to a studio. But her dog was tearing up the place and she wouldn't let anyone in to take care for her. So, we had to move her out. The staff was fine. However, I thought they were overworked. They seemed stressed out. They made little comments that made me think that a lot was expected of them and there weren't enough of them. The facility was also too big for her and they couldn't get to her quick enough when she needed help.

We went to visit and we liked it very much, but we feel that she needs more personalized care and my husband and I can give it to her. It's a lovely place. It seemed like they had plenty of activities for the clients that were there and the fact that they have the patio and they grow their own vegetables, it's beautiful. You can go to the dining room anytime during the day and order something to eat at any time.

Also, the executive director is very pleasant and she helps us work through the contract. They have a lot of activities for the clients like church services, bingo, ice cream socials, sing-a-long and exercises. It is easy to get to. Mom seems to be doing okay and she likes the facility.
