Affton House

I visited this facility

The Affton House assisted living facility offers a nice environment for resident seniors at varied levels of physical and mental ability. The decor was homey and comforting. The staff seemed caring and efficient. We are searching for a place for our aunt to live in the region.

We were greeted in the main area, where nice furnishings provide a living room setting. The communal areas we saw were ample and the residents appeared to be enjoying themselves while playing games, talking. reading, listening to music, using the computer and watching television.

The dining and eating areas were well-stocked with snacks that are available all day. The menu options looked very good, as did the food. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals very much.

We saw residents on walkers and those who were ambulatory -- all of whom seemed to navigate the space easily. Those who needed help were taken care of with kindness.

The events and activities include lots of interesting options - from exercise classes to crafts, fine dining in the city and cultural events. The living spaces were all personalized and looked very comfortable. They all had plenty of space to host guests.

The facility regularly has parties and celebrations for its residents where friends and family may attend. It is also possible to reserve space for a private gathering. We really liked this, since our aunt used to host many of our family parties. This is a really nice assisted living facility and we could see how anyone could be content and well cared for living there.
