My husband is at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. It's spacious. They have some nice grounds where he can take walks every day and still be within the facility. He likes the food. They're very attentive to his needs. They're very attentive to getting him settled in and making sure that the transition was a smooth one for him. They've been in constant contact with me, so I have good communication with them. My husband is just getting involved in activities like the walking club and exercise classes and stuff. He is socializing, too. They have assigned seats in the dining room, so he's not sitting alone. Previously in the other place he was in, he got to choose where he sat, and most of the time, he sat alone. Now he has tablemates that he gets to sit and socialize with every day, which I think is a really good thing. However, I would like to see a greater variety of activities and more field trips to different locations. The only other complaint I have is the transportation they provide for medical visits is very limited. It's only two days a week and it's a certain time frame. If you get an appointment on a Wednesday, you have to find your own transportation, so that is a concern to me.

My aunt has a room at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. It is a very nice facility for senior citizens who need limited support to full Reminiscence or memory care. They've got very caring staff and lots of activities and lots of engagement. They bring people in to entertain the residents. They do different programs. They have a schedule they follow. They have a nice dining area and good food. They have a choice of menu. They have exercise classes, people coming in playing music, and games. They do Mother's Day activities, things for the holidays, just anything you can think of. They have game nights and movie nights. My aunt started in an assisted living apartment, and quickly they realized that she wasn't transitioning well, so they provided extra support for her during that time. Eventually, they bridged her to the Reminiscence or memory care part of the facility. They worked with me in transitioning her to that part of the unit. They're very caring. The person that runs the Reminiscence area, Debbie, is amazing. She spends time with families and talks and she's on top of everything. The staff is very caring of the clients, and they know them very well. It's a nice place for seniors that have dementia or Alzheimer's. They do gardening and all kinds of stuff. As soon as my aunt leaves the hospital, she's gonna go back to Sunrise. If you have the money to be there, it's a nice place. It's very expensive.

My parents were at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon for a year. It was definitely not updated in comparison to what we experienced with the other place so far. It was not as updated, but it was pleasant. They have an outdoor area and a dining area for the residents. It was nice enough to where we felt comfortable moving my parents in there. The apartment was fine. They had a balcony. The welcoming staff was fine. It was always hard to get ahold of anyone, escecially when we were trying to find the person that we were supposed to communicate with about my parents. The people that came to do their meds and stuff were nice enough, but the housekeeping was a total failure. My parents' apartment was always dirty, especially the bathroom, which was really upsetting to us. They had music, and they had senior exercise classes there. It was a different experience for us because it was during the pandemic, so a lot of things were halted right as soon as they moved in. It was tough there, but certain things shouldn't have been affected, like the housekeeping and that kind of stuff. The meals weren't great. If you didn't like what they had, you could go ahead and order something special, so that kind of helped. However, the bill was never consistent. It was always different, and they would come up with reasons why it was going higher and higher and higher every time. They never really had a direct answer for us. They could improve on their housekeeping. They were clearly understaffed for the number of residents. It was a larger place.

Sunrise at Sterling Canyon seems like a less secure place compared to the other place I toured. Even though they had their front door, they had a lot of courtyards inside the complex. And those courtyards all had emergency exits going out, which could potentially be propped open and people could be able to come into the facility. The main part of the building was fine. The two rooms I saw seemed a little dark so I wasn't comfortable with that, and the place itself was also darker. It's not just the lighting, it's also the combination of the growth of the trees, there's a lot of vegetation and a lot of shade.

We went to Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. The rooms were good. They had options. You can get a one-bedroom, or you could have a studio apartment, which is what most people would have. But they did have available larger rooms. The dining room was excellent. They do chair exercises, watch TV and movies, and play games. They had a recreation room. The staff was great.

I saw Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. I like it, but it's high end. I need something less expensive. I was very impressed. It's a nice facility. I would like to put my husband in Sunrise because the hallway was so big that two wheelchairs could pass each other at the same time. It's just too much for my budget. I didn't see a staff, but the manager walked me through the place. I liked the rooms, the hallway, the cafeteria or lunch area, and the courtyard. It's very beautiful. I just did a short tour, but the person who showed me around was very polite, very smooth, and very nice. The rooms were very nice and very clean, and the one-bedroom had a little kitchen and a tiny living room. It would be nice to move my husband there; it's just too high end.
