Southwest 8 Senior Services, Inc is part of a national network of over 650 area agencies on aging. We are governed by the Older Americans Act, which Congress first passed in 1965. The nationwide network is there to work with seniors and their families in finding services that will allow them to remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.
Southwest 8 is one of 13 area agencies on aging serving Iowa. We have been serving seniors in this area since 1974 when we were originally part of Iowa Western Community College and since 1980 when the private non-profit corporation Southwest 8 Senior Services was formed.
