Emeritus at Tanque Verde

Don't let the appearance of the facility fool you. Medications are not a priority. Not administered timely or not all all. MAR (Medication Administration Report) falsified which is against state reg Title 9, Chapter 10, Article 7. Poor personal hygiene. Resident wore dirty clothing due to his clothing stolen. No effort to find his stolen clothing. Didn't follow their own House Rules, Medication Policy, Theft & Loss policy. Avoid this facility at all costs.

My Mom was a resident at Emeritus at Tanque Verde.. She recently passed away 3 Weeks Ago. I initially started searching for a facility that specialized in Memory Care. I visited several other assisted living facilities in the area. But, What stood out for me was the fact that everybody at Emeritus Tanque Verde was with out fail was kind and caring. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends

There are so many areas within this facility that the residents can use to entertain their friends and family, and I love that some of the rooms are designed like rooms you would see in someone's house. There is this little area with a kitchen and a dining room table and it really looks like it could be somebody's kitchen which I love since this is a memory care facility, it is really beneficial for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia to be able to spend time cooking, eating, and socializing with their family in a home-like setting because it can really help them to be able to connect to memories and the people they love. It is really good for the families too, I think, because it gives them time to be in the type of setting that they have missed since their loved ones left home. There are so many places within this facility that I love, and from watching the residents I can see that they really love their home and the staff. One resident told me that the staff are always asking the residents for their opinions because they truly care about them. He said that the staff always tell everyone that they are there for them and if there is something that the residents want to change or enforce or if there is a policy or activity or a meal that the residents want incorporated into the schedule, that they want the residents to feel confident and comfortable about coming forward. He told me that they even have these things called ""wish"" boxes sort of like suggestion boxes for those residents who want to remain anonymous to still be able to give their opinions. He told me that the staff are constantly asking the residents how they can make their lives easier or better, and that he really appreciates how much the staff cares about their feelings. I saw this type of service throughout my visit and I can tell that the staff goes above and beyond for each and every resident. I would recommend Emeritus at Tanque Verde to anyone searching for an exceptional home for their loved ones.
