My mother is in this place some of the Aid a very nice and some have attitudes that I wonder why are they even there dealing with elders. I see patients sitting and calling and with their call light on, but there is no one in site to come to their aid. They are understaffed and they try but what they end up is being frustrated, I've requested the walls in my mothers room be cleaned or painted, it's now going on a year and all they keep telling me is they will get to it. I tired of hearing the same excuses and nothing gets done about it. the cleaning people during the day sweep around the beds and don't even bother cleaning under the bed if they clean it at all because they spend more time talking and flirting with each other than doing their job. They have made it a point to beatify the entrance and the common areas people see when they come in but forget about the patients rooms, Food is cold by the time it gets to my mom that my mom doesn't want to eat it. overall is not a place I would recommend you bring your loved ones.

Stunning incompetence. In addition to him almost dying twice from undetected pneumonia, in 62 they lost he his hearing aids, teeth, and glasses. They have made excuse after excuse for not replacing them, I went to see him yesterday at 5:00pm (7-26-17). He was sweaty, non-responsive and gasping for air in his room with a blood oxygen level of 80%. He is now in St. Francis Hospital with Pneumonia. The bloodwork shows the infection had been building for two to three days before he got to that condition, and the nursing home did nothing in all that time. All they had to do is monitor him with a blood oximeter once a day and they would have seen the decline in blood oxygen indicating a problem. Instead they do it once a week. It takes under one minute to do the test. The Dr. at the ER told me that if he was left like that that he would have been dead in “less than four hours”. Thanks to me, my father is alive. There is a reason this place went bankrupt, the money voted. And the employees tell me it's even worse now that National Healthcare took over.

I was a patient at Hebrew healthcare for short term rehab. It was a nightmare. The mistresses were thin and had no support. The rooms were dirty. The food was inedible and the meals were made of the cheapest selections. Often they would run out of food. There were several mistakes with my medications while I was there. I would never go there again. I couldn't get out of there fast enough

Hebrew home behavior unit is absolutely awful! My mother was transfered from a nursing home, she suffers from dementia. The nursing home she came from was caring and treated her with respect and dignity. At the Hebrew home she is completely ignored and not cared for at all. There are a few good staff members but most should not be caring for elderly and dementia patients. They really couldn't care. I understand how difficult it is to care for these patients but why be in the medical field if you have no compassion!

After being treated at Hartford Hosp. ER for a cut on her forehead (6 stiches) and found to have a UTI my 88yr old Mom was transported to The Hebrew Home and Hospital. When i got there my Mother was sitting in a chair with a jonnie and thin blanket around her,she was freezing and because she has Lewy Body Dementia, was very confused. She cried and was so relieved to see me. I have no complaints about the nursing staff, as the actual healthcare she received was wonderful. What I couldn't believe was her environment. No proper hospital bed. The mattress was about 6inches thick. No comfort! We were told not to bring in any personal items as they would be supplied. She had no comb, had not been able to wash her face and hands, or brush her teeth. A cold , bare looking room. The food every time I was there, was cold, even her cup of tea. Thank goodness she was only in for 3 days. Will never go back.

My mom has been in the Alzeimers unit for 2 years and I can not say enough good things about the care, love and devotion all have shown to my mother Tony. You are all saints.

I have a relative admitted after surgery from the hospital fot short term physical therapy (for walking). From day one there have been problems were relative has been injured (broke her arm on first full night there. Relative caught pneumonia and they would not send her back to hospital until she was so severly debydrated that she was hallucinating and totally out of her mind. After her arm was broken 2 days later she was put on behavior health unit there. No rehab is being done because they switch relative back and forth to behavior health ar will. They were not bathing relative. She got bedsores. Staff would not respond to familly. Some personal items have disappeared twice. On behavior health unit patients are all out in the hall or in the bedrooms screaming, being ignored. Staff lies about mr relative being rehabed when family come for visit. Different family members are there about 4 times a week and we take notice of a lot of things. Relative has been there over 2 months with no improvements. It is time we brought relative back to her home and outpatient rehab etc. Relative is slowly wasting away in there.

Was not happy with their behavioral health unit. Saw patients lying for hours in gurneys. Staff were mostly stern and quiet, even with family members. Tried to ask about follow up care and they would not return calls, then gave one day notice to find assisted living. A couple people were nice and helpful, but mostly it was a huge disappointment. Will not seek care there again.

The facility was clean and well maintained they always had fresh flowers in the lobby. This facility offers many different activities to keep the patient's entertained. They had many different events such as a movie night and a bingo night. They even had a weekend carnival where they had faced painters, balloons and different booths setup to entertain the patients. The room was a simple one but clean. It had consisted of two beds one and bathroom. Also the room had two bureau cases, closets and two televisions one for each guest. On the premises they had nurses and doctors in addition to physical therapists. They also had a hair cutter and a little store to buy the essentials. My grandmother enjoyed the food that they served, especially the desert. Her stay there was short, but restful, and she regained her health rather quickly under there care. My interactions with the staff were always pleasant, and they were very friendly and courteous to me.

The staff were kindly and generous and generally wanted to help the people there. I met some good kids who were also volunteering, and the patients were very nice as well. We were involved with putting on a concert for the patients at the facility which I believe that they enjoyed. The facility was well run, and all of the patients seemed content about being there. Many of the patients were Jewish, as it was a Jewish assisted living facility--I volunteered through my Synnogauge. I enjoyed volunteering there--it was a positive place with a great atmosphere and the grounds were spectacularly beautiful. My fellow volunteers and I were able to entertain the patients at the center for a good while, as well as serving them dinner and playing board games with them. They seemed happy to be around young people, and I was grateful for the opportunity to brighten someone's day. In all, it was an exceedingly positive experience and I ended up working there multiple times.
