I am a friend or relative of resident
In January of 2009 my husband was diagnosed with Lewy Body Disease and almost overnight I needed adult day care services for him. I was referred to this facility (formerly called Beth Am Lied Adult Day Care) by a social worker, and by his doctor who explained that I had to keep his mind busy to keep him healthy. It is a wonderful place. This is a non-denominational, non-profit facility. Grants are available for care, and the social worker will help with applications. Hours are 6:30 am-6: 30 pm M-F, 8:00-6:00 Sat. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. The clients are mostly seniors, with a variety of physical needs and social abilities. The staff is outstanding. A nurse, CNAs, and volunteers interact with the clients all day long. My husband has come to love them, and when given a choice about staying home or going to the center, he chooses to go. When he is there, he is treated with such respect. This includes saving his favorite chair for him, and greeting him like a long-lost friend when he goes through the door. This is so important to him, and to me. When he first attended, we told him he was a volunteer (he would not have gone otherwise). Every day they would thank him for his help. Other clients think they are at school, or at work. The staff is so understanding of each person. Everyone is treated with care, and made to feel important. Their mission statement is: "Nevada Senior Services responds to the important mission of supporting senior citizens and the disabled in their effort to remain independent with dignity in the community, maintaining quality of life and avoiding institutionalization. "We accomplish our mission by improving the physical, spiritual and emotional health of individuals and families thru providing a comprehensive range of health, education, and social services for those facing the challenges of chronic disease, disability and aging.†They do accomlish that mission! My husband chooses what he wants to do when he is there from the programs provided which include, Tai Chi, Laughing Yoga, arts & crafts, exercise, daily entertainment, bingo, music and lots of companionship. The facility also provides caregiver support group meetings, Connections (for people with early stage memory loss) geriatric assessments for the community, chronic disease self-management programs (Healthy Aging Up 2 Me). I refer people here on a regular basis and have heard only positive feedback.
I am a current client of this provider
Great caring facility that takes good care of my mom. Facility is a bit dated, but don't judge based on this.....it's clean and they make the best of it. Have highly improved on making healthier meals. This is the only adult care facility that I know that is open on Saturdays. You can trust your loved ones spending their day here.
