I am a friend or relative of a resident
My mom came to live with me after she suffered a stroke and was not able to take care of herself. I work full time and don't have family that can help watch my mom while I'm at work. A social worker recommended I look into adult day care facilities and recommended this one to us. My mom loved it the day we visited! Most of the residents and employees are Spanish-speaking, patient, and wonderful!
They have a bus that comes every morning to pick mom up before I leave for work. Once they arrive at Casa Central, they eat breakfast together. Each day is filled with a different activity that makes my mom look forward to going. My mom's personal favorite activities include: aerobics, dancing class, singing songs, crafts, and the (optional) sermons given by a pastor. For holidays, they have special events that include kids and even musicians like mariachis! Casa Central even has field trips for those residents that are well enough to walk longer distances. They also eat lunch there and have a bus that drops them off at home in the afternoon. I recommend taking your loved one to visit this facility. Like my mom, they won't want to leave.
I visited this facility
This facility located on the northwest side of chicago, has a bed hold of 156 residents. They do accept all forms of insurances. They also accept skilled level of care. The meals are prepared by the staff. While there I witnessed the residents going to an outside area to smoke, being escorted by the staff. There is no on-site dialysis facilities, the residents are transported to such facilities. This is a facility that serves a heavy population of the hispanic community. The facility is clean, and the care provided is of quality. In general I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars.
