I visited this facility

In my opinion, this facility was top notch. The staff was very caring and I felt they sincerely liked what they do. None of the residents there the day I visited seemed agitated. It's like they felt at home there, which is how they should feel. The day center also offered numerous activities, it wasn't like a holding cell for the elderly. I liked how the residents were provided transportation and could leave the premises with a chaperone if they wished. The price was also surprisingly affordable. Being a day center, it was a new and interesting nursing home concept; the elderly got their freedom during the day, but still had professionals watching over them and keeping their minds sharp with things to do. The biggest positive for me was that it's connected to a hospital. If someone needed care they were already onsite. Much of the staff were bilingual. As a descendant of a Cuban immigrant who doesn't speak English, it was great to see that level of communication. I sometimes thing about the future and If I ever had to put my father in a home and it makes me feel better knowing that there are places like this who will be able to care for him and speak with him like a human being and not just another old person.
