To support them, more than 15 million people are providing unpaid care -- care that takes an emotional, physical, and financial toll on family caregivers. To face this public health crisis, we'll need breakthroughs in prevention and treatment. And we'll also need to find better ways to support Alzheimer's caregivers. Understanding the staggering size and scope of the challenge, as illustrated by these key facts, is the first step toward promoting awareness.
