Have you ever promised your parent or loved one that you'd never put them in a long-term care facility, such as assisted living or a nursing home? A long time ago, I made that promise to my mind and have since had to take it back. I watched how my aunts dealt (poorly) with my grandmother whose care exceeded their ability to give it in their own homes...
