I was talking with a hospice worker the other day about keeping track of important paperwork like wills,  insurance, Retirement accounts, etc.

She made this really good point, that many people now have all sorts of accounts and email online and it could be really helpful to keep track of all those accounts and passwords.

When my mom died, her husband was able to get into her email, but I would have had no clue how to get into her account, and about email contacts to notify.

I just thought it was such a good point.

This is absolutely nuts to admit, but I've had this same thought about my own death.  I recently put together a document with passwords and contact information for my husband.  My parents have told me where their important documents are, but now that I think about it, I know there are no account numbers in there.  That "package" needs to be more thorough.

Thanks Rebecca!

You are very right; that's not something I had considered, either. Good advice!
