In honor of Father's Day, "Thanks Dad"

We lost my father-in-law six years ago and I would give just about anything to have one more day with him.  I'd share a long list of things I want to thank him for.  So in honor of Father's Day, here are a few of them.  I'd love to read everyone else's as well.

Thank you dad (in-law) for showing me that people show love in different ways.  And even if they don't wear it on their sleeve, it's most certainly there.

Thank you dad (in-law) for showing me the value in taking financial risks.  You were the king of financial information!  I miss not having you to call on when I have a question.

Thank you dad (in-law) for shaping your son into the outstanding man he is today.  I see so much of you in him.  Every time  he goes outside to putter in his garden after work for a few minute of solace, I smile and think of you.

Thanks, Dad, for letting me be myself. FOr believing in my skill as a parent. For making me your little girl forever and ever. I miss you.

Thank you Dad for being the man that I compare all other men to.  They never actually measure up, so I continue to look for you in every man I meet.

Thank you also for being the most amazing father.  You brought love and light into my life with every smile you bestowed upon me.  I am so sorry for all that has happened, and losing you is still something I can't really deal with yet.  But someday.  And yes, just one more day with you would make my life much better today.  You were a man above all others.  And I love and miss you dearly.  And hope I make you proud.

Ok, this one made me cry so hard.  But a great way to get it out.

I too would give anything for one more day with both of my parents.  I have so many things to say to them, but if I could only hold them once more; it would do my heart a world of good.  But this is in reference to Father's Day; so to my father:  You are the best man I have ever met, and all others have paled in comparison.  48 years was still not enough time.
